Publisher's summary

In Dark Lycan, Christine Feehan journeyed into the heart of the Carpathians, and into the souls of two lifemates stirred by the flush of passion and the threat of annihilation. In Dark Wolf, the breathtaking story continues as the bonds of family are imperiled, and the fate of two lovers lies hidden in the seductive shadows between life and death.

Skyler Daratrazanoff always recognized the miracle that was Dimitri Tirunul, a man beyond any dream that had ever engaged her nights. But she was human. Vulnerable. He was Carpathian. Nearly immortal. She was nineteen. He was an ancient. Yet she held half his soul, the light to his darkness. Without her, he would not survive. Caught between the two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free, and humans safe. He had survived honorably when others had chosen to give up their souls. But now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri found himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation was coming…

No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she had something no one else had. She was predestined for Dimitri - as he was for her. And there was nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk.

Skylar & Dimitry need I say more.

This is one of my absolute favorite book in this series. The humor parts are guffaw worthy. Skylar is the absolute star of this book. She grows into her strength & self confidence & self love if you have enjoyed watching her grow up & adore Josef & Paul you will love it.

A Stunning Gigante-Ross Production!

This book was long awaited by fans of C. Feehan's Carpathian series. Skyler, the heroine, was introduced to readers of the series when she was a young, terribly abused child. We've watched her grow up. We read about her meeting with her lifemate, Dimitri, way back in Dark Celebration. She was too young at the time (16 if I remember correctly) for Dimitri to "claim" her, but they have a telepathic bond and have been communicating, getting to know one another, since they met.

Circumstances have conspired to end their wait to be together. Dimitri is being held hostage by the Lycans, subjected to a torture that could end his immortal life. The Carpathian people are embroiled in negotiations with the Lycans, who have assured them that Dimitri is being treated well. Skyler, now 19 but with life experience well beyond her years, knows something dreadful is happening when Dimitri fails to respond to her telepathically. She and two of her young friends embark on a daring mission to rescue Dimitri.

As with most books in this series, the action is fast paced and more or less continuous. The romance in this book is possibly more tender than some of the relationships in previous books, but that's how it should be given Skyler's past. Dimitri did not come off quite as "cavemanish" as some Carpathian males do, and for that I was grateful.

I really enjoyed how they brought a good deal of the characters from previous books together in this book and gave them a part to play. It was almost like catching up with old friends.

But lets face it folks, the very best part of this audio book was the stunningly brilliant narration. Having heard both readers before, I was overjoyed when I saw they were narrating this much anticipated book. It sounded more like a performance than a narration. The switches from male to female reader was seamless and flawless. It was pure perfection from both of them. For me, their narration stole the show! Well done Phil and Natalie! Well done indeed!

Not as good as I hoped

first I want to start by stating that I think I would have enjoyed it better had I read it or there were different narrators. The female narrator made Skyler sound like she was in her forties and while Skyler is mature for a 19 year old she is still a nineteen-year-old it should sound a lot more like 1. The narrator doing Dimitri voice I wasn't quite fond of except I did like how he was on Paul and Joseph. Pretty much everybody else but Dimitri I think my biggest problem is he could not pronounce the names and it just grinded on my nerves. The female narrator was my biggest pet peeve though and the biggest one I struggled with. the book was good I like that the story developed Skyler and Joseph and Paul's relationship allowed us to see where it had developed. I like how it showed more of her power and what she can do. I just feel like it jumped too fast from her not wanting anything to do with Dimitri and being scared comma too them being fully committed to each other to the point that she would even make love with him even though she has a terrible sexual history. Sindel couldn't even get over her one rape incident but you're telling me Skyler got over her numerous sex abuse sex traffic trafficking incidents from when she was a child. Not likely.

Had me biting my nails

This was another amazing book from Christine Feehan. I have to admit that when I found out that Phil Gigante was one of the Narrators I was even more eager to read this book. He is just amazing. Natalie Ross did an amazing job as well.

This story was really good but, it wasn't as good as the previous books in the series. For me it took to long. And the ending just ended. Yes there is another book and there had to be some sort of cliff hanger but, nothing was resolved. You were left with more questions then answers. The ending was the most disappointing part of the whole book. Apart from the ending it was a very nice book. Something I would reread and recommend to friends.

The male and female readers were really good and seamless as they switched back and forth.

Didn't want it to end.

Christine Feehan has done it again. Loved the story and her characters. She made me feel as if they were all real. The narrators were phenomenal. I didn't want the story to stop and wish the next one was ready.

wonderful

Would you listen to Dark Wolf again? Why?

definitely - the story line from beginning to end keeps you on the edge of your seat. Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross did an excellent job reading the book. I especially like when there are two readers

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dark Wolf?

when Skylar jumped in front of Dmitri and was shot and he had to find her in the shadow world while she was converting to Carpathian.

Any additional comments?

This book did not let the reader down. When an author writes so many books they sometimes start to be repetitive not so with Christine Feehan's. I look forward to each and every one.
