Publisher's Summary

Sawyer Hudson, the only doctor in Buckhorn County, took it upon himself to rescue the beautiful but enigmatic woman who came literally crashing into his life. Though he knew he should keep things platonic and professional, around her his body had other ideas. And his heart was no more cooperative.

Honey Malone was on the run, fleeing a dangerous predator, when she lost control of her car, drove into a lake… and found herself up to her neck in breathtaking men. After the brothers nursed her through her injuries, she tried to leave, but she hadn’t bargained on their stubborn protectiveness. Or the passionate bond that tied her to Sawyer.

Morgan Hudson commanded a lot of respect as Buckhorn’s biggest, baddest sheriff. How one petite city woman could turn him on his head was a mystery, not to mention being downright aggravating. But Misty Malone did just that, and Morgan couldn’t wait till she went back where she belonged. But then he discovered why she’d come in the first place.

Misty Malone had hoped to take refuge with her sister, who’d just married into a family of sinfully attractive brothers. They all treated her like gold—all but one. Morgan seemed to think she was some sort of femme fatale, out to seduce his brothers. But seduction was the last thing on her mind. Foremost was the baby she was secretly carrying. And then, how to avoid the sexual sparks flying between her and Morgan.

Team Sawyer Wins over Team Morgan

Keeping in mind that with the price of 1 credit, you are being somewhat entertained for 14 hours, I would say that Buckhorn Beginnings is definitely credit worthy.
The first 6 + hours: Sawyer's story, is very good, and I really enjoyed it. The Hudson's are an endearing band of brothers, with one exception being Morgan, who is second son, and therefore the second half of the book. He is a somewhat unappealing, controlling man, whose temperament is grouchy and his method of dealing with people is intimidation.

I am on Chapter 11 of 14 in the second half of Buckhorn Beginnings, and am having trouble finishing it. Morgan's story is too predictable, and cliché'. Isabelle Gordon is just OK as the narrator. I actually hate her voice for Morgan. Her interpretation of the other brothers is better, but having Morgan as the main character of the second half...and having to listen to him so much...his (her) voice is really grating.

Team Sawyer is the definite winner. Most will enjoy the first half of this book...the second half...not so sure.

It was stupid! Don't waste your time!

Would you try another book from Lori Foster and/or Isabelle Gordon?

No!!!

What was most disappointing about Lori Foster’s story?

The storyline was shallow - she could have done much more with this story!

How could the performance have been better?

She talked way too fast; didn't distinguish between characters so it was really hard to follow; and she did an overall poor job.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment - what a waste of time and money.

Eh, it's decent

Overall, I would say this book was a fun, light, easy read. I sometimes found the narrator's style slightly dramatic, and at one point I heard her swallow. But, the thing that kind of irritated me was the main character, Honey Malone. She just didn't come across as being very smart. However, some of the other characters are interesting. In fact, my favorite character was the teenage son.

For the most part, this was a decent audiobook. I just recommend waiting until it's on sale to purchase it. I wouldn't waste a whole credit on it.

Two great stories for the price of one!

What made the experience of listening to Buckhorn Beginnings the most enjoyable?

How the author basically had two seperate stories under one cover was great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Buckhorn Beginnings?

I'd say having a woman in a strictly man only zone left some pretty funny moments in the stories.

Which character – as performed by Isabelle Gordon – was your favorite?

I'd say Honey was my favorite character. I connected with her the most I guess because I'm just as suburn and independent as she is.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it all in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I like the story line of these two stories. I will deffinately put more books from this author into my wish list to find out what happens to the other brothers to see what woman will come along to tame the rest of men under one roof. :D

Great series. Loved as ebooks, better as audio.

Where does Buckhorn Beginnings rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I think this book rates in the top ten. I can't do better since I have quite a few favorites.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sawyer because he seemed so caring and rugged.

What does Isabelle Gordon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is very good at different characters. I listen to books at work and a good narrator makes all the difference. Would listen to other books by her anytime.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Oh, Brothers!!!

Any additional comments?

I am greatly looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. I love that some of my favorite authors are having more of their books come out on audio. <br/>

Great Listen

I really liked this book. It was actually like two books in one the way one characters story seemed to end and anothers began. I would like to see a series with all the brothers.

Get to stories for the price on one!!!!!!

I enjoyed the two stories a lot. Can't wait until the next ones come out, but the narration was horrible.
