Publisher's summary

December 11th, 1930, British India

The sleepy Himalayan hill resort of Mussoorie is shaken by the murder of a rich British colonel. Hundreds of kilometres away in New Delhi, Chief Inspector Malcolm Priestly receives an urgent message from his friend, John Harrison. Harrison informs Priestly that he has been arrested for the murder and pleads with him to leave for Mussoorie immediately.

Malcolm Priestly arrives in Mussoorie with his long-time assistant, Dr. Prem Singh. The inspector in charge, David Atkins, informs them that the case against John Harrison looks open and shut. He has identified a clear motive, opportunity, and even the rifle with a single missing bullet used in the shooting. As they continue their investigation, there is another dramatic development which seems to reconfirm John Harrison’s guilt....

Narration is off

The narrator, reads very well. This is a book with masculine main characters. The narrator is female and it is disconcerting to listen to.

Reader would be better suited for cartoons

Story is very basic. Would have been passable without the distraction of the reader. To start off with, the characters were almost indistinguishable. As the story moved along, they morphed into cartoon characters ... with the most mutilated accents I’ve ever heard! I’m still cringing from what was represented as a Cockney rendition! Could have been good ... sadly ... it wasn’t.
