Another Great!

This kept the course with the rest of this amazing series! It had kept me entertained and engaging and begging for more! Now I am itching for the next book!

Loved this one but our cast weren't present in the last few chapters. then it just ended. A bit disappointing. Was hoping to be done with this arc sooner lol.
Temp characters aren't worth getting invested into

Not bad, but not much too this book

This was a bit of a filler book. Side stories and just not a lot of movement in the base story line. Yes a few things did happen and it was NOT just one AI written fight seen like many other books recently but it still seemed slim with lots of filler. I do like the story like so will continue for now.

Solid Web Serial

This book shows its origins as a web serial. Much like The Wandering Inn, this series tends to wander about, drifting from one storyline to another at the author's whim. Note that the book ends in the middle of a new subsidiary storyline, though the ending doesn't really feel like a cliffhanger, since it doesn't end in a moment of high jeopardy. But this is in no way a complete story.

The characters are probably the strongest part of the series. The main characters (by some definition; it can be difficult to identify who the main characters are at times) are both sympathetic and memorable. The supporting characters have their own personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. And the antagonists, likewise are memorable and varied.

The world is relatively weak, being mostly sketched in as new places are needed in the story. But the clan conflicts are interesting, which helps to obscure the problems in verisimilitude.

The paragraph and chapter-level writing is quite good, with very solid action scenes and interesting puzzles and dilemmas.

If you're looking for a strongly structured story, this is not that. But there is actual, significant progress in what seems to be the main arc of the story, so if you can stand a rather scattered plot, this can work well. At least, I've enjoyed all the books I've read so far, so I'm comfortable recommending both book and series to the right audience.

Good book

I've been following the series for a bit now and I'd highly recommend you do so to. I love the rune magic system and the story telling and writing is beautiful
