Some flames never die....

Olivia had a crush on Weston in high school, but he didn't return her affections - or, at least that's what she thought. He pushed her away for her own good. Now, 16 years after graduation, she sees him under harrowing circumstances. Trying to convince herself she doesn't still carry a torch for him proves challenging, as her soul and mind have always said otherwise.

At Wes's firehouse, he saves the lives of hundreds, but the one thing he hasn't rescued is his own heart. The same girl who had him twisted up in knots at 17 has done it again. But after 16 long years, Wes still believes he's unworthy of Liv.

When the two are finally brought back together, their passion is ignited. The fire burns. And the feelings that flickered like embers in the night are stoked back to life.

In the end, will their hearts unite, or will it all go up in smoke?

I received this Audiobook as part of Facebook group code giveaway and am providing my review voluntarily.

I loved the storyline and stayed up till 5am to finish it. I could completely relate to Liv's inability to get out of her relationship with Jarod having once dated a similarly manipulative man who by all outward appearances was a great guy but lacked sparks. Had I not been through that before, I may have taken issue with that part of the storyline.

(No spolier) I adored the "time-after-time" part and had tears in my eyes and Wes' dirty talk is on point!

My only issue was with the narration; I checked multiple times to make sure I was listening at 1.00X speed because it sounded super rushed. This is not an audiobook to listen to at faster speeds for sure.

Great Storyline

Wes and Olivia liked each other in high school but Wes pushed her away because he didn’t think he was good enough for her because of his bad home life. Fast forward 16 years—Olivia is in a car wreck and Wes is one of the first responders. Imagine her surprise at hearing his voice after all these years. There are many emotions felt by both at this unexpected reunion. Now that they have been reunited, will the hurt from the past keep them apart? This book was a well written story about second chance. I liked the narration but would like to hear more feeling expressed by the narrator.

This is a new to me author. I found this to be a well-written story with some very steamy moments. Weston and Olivia first meet in high school. They sorta notice each other but find themselves admiring from afar. Until Olivia finds her in Wes's lap. After graduation, Olivia moves away for college. During their time apart they thought about each other often. Fast forward 16 years, Olivia moves back to town eventually she and Wes cross paths. What happens when they see each other after all these years? I highly recommend this audiobook and look forward to checking out more from this author. While I didn't love the narrator's character portrayal I didn't hate it either. I found her female voice to be good while her male voice was a bit lacking.
