The material was spectacular but the narrator spoke so abnormally slowly it was annoying at first but then I sped it up to 1.25x and it is so much better this way!! Yay!!

Amazing and so Rewarding

I loved every word and the delivery of it. With it being read by Raven herself I felt more connected with what she was sharing with us.

I found myself in tears at certain areas and laughing out loud at others. What an amazing journey she has shared with us.

I am just beginning my journey with Reiki Healing and this book made me look even more forward to my own journey ahead. I cannot thank you enough for this Raven.

Blessings to you!

too long

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

it was difficult to get through, i felt the stories were very repetitive. I do want to go back and listen to the exercises at the end of the book, which i listened to a few and they seemed helpful.

What was most disappointing about Raven Keyes’s story?

very repetitive in the nature of the stories. it could have been cut down significantly.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

a little slow for me at times.

Overall Good But with Some Eye Roll Moments.

What did you like best about The Healing Power of Reiki? What did you like least?

I enjoyed the book overall, it's great to hear firsthand stories of something like energy healing, rather than listening to a "how-to" book. Raven seemed sincere, and I enjoyed her story telling style.

My dislikes were few, but there was a few "eye roll" moments towards the end. Raven discusses her time healing families and officers affected by 9/11, on the grounds in the aftermath. Incredible - and riveting!

However, she then discusses for two chapters how much healing the 9/11 victims affected her, her PTSD from it, how hard it was for her.. and while I'm sure it was difficult... I couldn't help but be rubbed the wrong way.

Those chapters came across more as "poor me, for being such a good healer" rather than genuine compassion for the families, officers and servicemen, and women who were even more directly affected. Like.. they were in the buildings or had close partners pass away.

Overall good, but those final chapters just read more as a cry for sympathy and it kind of left the book with an odd taste in my mouth. But 90% of the book was great, and it was more of an annoyance if anything... this could also just be my interpretation.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I loved hearing about Raven's journey to Reiki, and the way she explains her own personal experiences as a healer. This becomes even more interesting considering each healer as their own unique experiences healing and learning.

What aspect of Raven Keyes and John Keane ’s performance would you have changed?

If this had come out around 9/11, the 9/11 chapters would have made more sense. Considering this book was released nearly 11 years after 9/11, I would have brought the story back to the current moment a bit more.

As stated before, her 2-3 chapters on her personal struggles from being a good healer after 9/11 just read in a way that begged for sympathy, and while it was supposed to make Raven seem more human, I think the way it came across was flawed.

I'd love to hear more recent and relevant stories because those were all great. Hearing about her work with NFL players, transplant and heart surgery patients, were all incredible.

Could you see The Healing Power of Reiki being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

No.

Almost 8 hours long of listening to heartwarming stories of her practice, some of which brought tears of love as I listened. Many beautiful meditations were added to the end of this book. I am glad I bought and listened to this book. Thank you Raven for sharing your stories.
