Publisher's Summary

The world's only non-denominational exorcist - the subject of a forthcoming major motion picture - tells her astonishing true story: a riveting chronicle of wrestling entities from infected souls, showing how pain and trauma opens us to attachment from forces that drain our energy...and can even destroy our humanity.

As a secular exorcist, Rachel H. Stavis has cleansed thousands of tormented people, from small children and Hollywood moguls to stay-at-home moms and politicians. But for many years, the horror screenwriter and novelist denied her gift. As a little girl, she began to see "monsters" floating around her bedroom or attached to other children. Told it was only her imagination, Rachel learned to ignore the things she saw.

But a series of events in adulthood forced her to acknowledge her unique ability and embrace her power to heal. Since then, Rachel has dedicated her life to helping others cast off the forces feeding off of us. Performing her services pro-bono, she quietly worked in the shadows, until she unknowingly revealed her work to a journalist, who told her story to NPR.

A unique look at demonology removed from religious dogma, Sister of Darkness recounts Rachel's journey to becoming an exorcist and chronicles some of her most extreme cleansings cases, including those that put her and her clients in peril. Going deep into her world, we meet the diverse range of people she has helped - young, old, famous, and not - in gripping stories of danger and sometimes sadness, that are ultimately about redemption. Rachel teaches us that there are a diverse range of "entities" surrounding us - some of these are playful or misguided, while some are dangerous and harmful. She introduces each of them and explains their power, helping us understand what is attacking and hurting us, and what we can do to protect ourselves.

Frightening, eye-opening, and utterly enthralling, Sister of Darkness brings to light a world ruled by destruction, chaos and fear, and the woman who bravely fights to protect those who seeks her out.

Informative and Enlightening

This book came to me at the perfect time. I listened to an interview with the author on a podcast and felt compelled to give it a go. That decision had to be one of the best I have ever made. Once I convinced myself to listen with an open heart and an open mind, everything just resonated with me perfectly. She had a way of putting everything in a perception that was totally relatable and explained everything with such clarity and confidence that I walked away with a new found personal confidence. If you are doubting if you should give this book a try, then just listen to your gut and go for It! you won't regret it!

This validated a lot for me

I hadn't been to a book store in a long time. One day last week I was going to the pet store to buy cat food and had a spur of the moment inclination to go into Barnes&Noble. I saw this book sitting on a shelf at the book store and was immediately drawn to it. After much contemplation, I didn't buy it thinking I don't need another book. And as phases go, there are phases where this line of work keeps coming back to the forefront for me and I keep ignoring it. I walked away from it thinking I'll see if I can get a better price for it somewhere else. When I had the chance to look around online the first thing I found was the an offering on Audible, I jumped on it. With that said, this book helped me tremendously. I've been drawn to this work for a very long time but have ignored the pull. I've seen some of what she has seen and have been doing the work in a more removed way (via the Akashic Records) but sporadically. I am grateful that she has walked the walk and that she gave an inside view of her life, her experiences, what she has seen (I'm a visual person), what the work entails and tips on how to do some if the self work. This validated alot for me and although my sightings are not as frequent as hers, they parallel and she clarified alot for me. Great book for those who are not sure, who doubt or are ignoring the fact that they really are being called to do this kind of work. Thank you R.H. Stavis for putting this out there for those of us still hesitating.

caution

I never write reviews of the audio books I chose to listen to but I feel it is necessary for this audio book. I feel the author of this audio book neglected to mention how completely DANGEROUS automatic writing and ouija boards are and speaks of them as they are for anyone to use to connect with spirit. The only thing these techniques are going to bring is a real trouble that she can NOT exercise out of existence. This material is not for the beginner of the spiritual world.

She is the sister of darkness in her work but also educates is on the positive energies and spirit. R.H. Stavis advocates our own power and light.

Refreshing and poignant

I loved the message and feeling this book brought to my perspective on the world around me. Topics like this have always fascinated me and I love to find others out there that have had similar experiences with metaphysical knowledge and awareness. I highly recommend and wish there were more of us that could do what Sarah Durand can do. Most interesting for me was the entity classifications and how they can influence our thoughts and actions In everyday situations. There are some parts of this book that are similar to other metaphysical books I’ve read about in the past but I feel like this particular book best explains entity possession without using religion as a foundation. Great book and well written overall

Perfect 4 the metaphysically + spiritually curious

This book blew my mind.

Those with open minds looking for answers should definitely read this one. It may be the one that changes your entire life and outlook on our entire existence, gives you a new perspective you didn't know existed or confirms the one you already suspected. It's incredibly eye opening to think why some people may act a certain way as if they have a dark cloud around them or a place may have unexplainable strange and vile activity about it. Our girl Stavis not only proposes this may be the case but she can actually see and feel these malevolent entities.

Rachel is a real life superhero who came from a life of emotional rollercoasters along with an unusual ability to be able to see these lower and higher dimensional beings since early childhood. She tells us her testimony of how she became an exorcist and the profoundly strong and resilient woman she is today despite the traumas and this superpower she was gifted that literally gave her nightmares. I think many will find her deeply inspiring like I did which that alone could have made the book for me. Her unbelievable story makes this book personal, emotional and definitely worth a read.

This book may leave you feeling like you wish you could meet her in person so she can work on you to remove anything you may have blocking you as well as become her friend lol!

Rachel also gives a lot of helpful advice on how you can raise your frequency yourself. As someone that's been dabbling in the metaphysical for minute now the whole insense thing was totally new to me! Now I can't wait to try it while continuing to keep working on myself and my connection. LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Eye opening and amazing!

I’m a believer. I believe she is truthful in everything she says. I’ve experienced a tiny fraction of what she writes about in this book. If you’ve never experienced spirit then I can understand being cynical.

I loved her honesty, and openness. She gives great advice in a simple and easy to digest way. Give the book a chance with an open heart and mind and I think you’ll be happy you did.
