Publisher's summary

In The Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Willard gracefully weaves biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice into a tour de force that shows the necessity of profound change in how we view our lives and faith.

In an era in which many Christians consider Jesus a beloved but remote savior, Willard argues compellingly for the relevance of God to every aspect of our existence. Masterfully capturing the central insights of Christ's teachings in a fresh way for today's seekers, he helps us to explore a revolutionary way to experience God by knowing him as an essential part of the here and now, rather than only as part of the hereafter.

A Book Destined to Become a Classic

This book is, hands down, the best book I have ever purchased from Audible. It is deep and scholarly and yet very accessible. I have both the audio version and a hard-cover version.

Reading the hard-cover version takes effort, but the narrator (Thomas Penny) does an absolute masterful job of helping the reader fully grasp what the author intended to convey.

I have another Dallas Willard book that is narrated by Willard himself. For my money Penny is well worth, well, every penny. He really brings this remarkable book to life.

It is not an understatement for me to say that this is a book I have been searching for much of my life. It answers many of the deep, nagging questions that have painfully vexed me for some time. I am now learning to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn from my Master. The Holy Spirit has used this book in an amazing way. I am deeply grateful.

Blessed are those who hunger for righteousness for they will be filled.

You will leave this book transformed

What made the experience of listening to The Divine Conspiracy the most enjoyable?

The beginning of the book is essential, yet pretty slow. It was hard to stay motivated to listen to this book in the beginning. However, you will not leave this book unchanged for the better. Wow. Willard is a patriarch and gifted in taking off the blindfolds of anyone who reads/listens to this book. Don't hesitate to take the challenge of this longer listen. It's a MUST.

I finally found a book that makes the Bible real.

Dallas is authentic and a scholar. His walk is genuine and educated. He explains how we can enter “the Kingdom of Heaven” now. He explains how the American Church got to where it is at today. Right and left. Conservative and Liberal. He tells us exactly what Jesus is saying in his individual parables and scriptures.

Godly Knowledge

knowing who God is it is not enough...knowing how he loves is skimming the surface but confirming how our will ,desire should align and be lead by Godly Knowledge allows us to honor and love him in a way pleasing to him our savior

Must read for every believer

My pastor highly suggested this book to me. I noted that DW was quoted in many of my favorite theological books, so I decided to read this one.
It’s very heavy and long, so I listened the first time and I will have to read it many more times to grasp his writing better.
Williard breaks down many aspects of the gospels and christian life/discipleship that are often neglected by church leadership. This isn’t a nag on church, it’s just so.
I’d basically consider this a handbook for christian living. And even tho it was written in the 1990s, his words are perhaps more true today than they were 30 years ago.
