Story
The Ten Commandments by Arthur W. Pink is a short introduction to God’s Moral Law. Pink shows that the Moral Law is still binding on all men today, that humanity will be judged for its violation, and that it is the rule of life and means of sanctification for the Christian. At one time, this was the prevailing understanding in Christianity.

Story
The heart of the biblical understanding of idolatry, argues Gregory Beale, is that we take on the characteristics of what we worship. Employing Isaiah 6 as his interpretive lens, Beale demonstrates that this understanding of idolatry permeates the whole canon, from Genesis to Revelation. Beale concludes with an application of the biblical notion of idolatry to the challenges of contemporary life.

And just as the apostle Matthew didn't draw any attention to himself, so also J. C. Ryle clearly and wonderfully directs his words and our thoughts towards the inspired words of scripture. If we truly love God, we will love his word; and the more study his word, the more we will love God.

Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother?

Story
While most of us barely begin to even consider the “why” questions, Arthur W. Pink plainly declared the unpopular truth about the root cause of all human maladies. In his incisive way, Pink explained that the reason for the human condition is a spiritual one. Man has been a rebel against his Maker ever since the rebellion of our first parents in the garden of Eden. In this book, there are unique insights into depravity not commonly found in the more modern writings on the topic, as well as very precious truths about the finished work of Jesus in saving sinners.

Story
The Death of Death in the Death of Christ is a polemical work designed to show, among other things, that the doctrine of universal redemption is unscriptural and destructive to the Gospel. Those who see no need for doctrinal exactness and have no time for theological debates that show divisions between evangelicals may well regret its reappearance. Some may find the very sound of Owen's thesis so shocking that they will refuse to consider his book at all.

A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Publisher's summary
Nineteenth-century preacher Charles Spurgeon may have surprised some when he delivered this sermon on the doctrine of election. Though predestination aligned with Spurgeon’s denominational beliefs as a Particular Baptist, it was still an unpopular sermon topic. Spurgeon tackles it head-on in this sermon, however, providing support from both Scripture and theologians who came before him. Contemporary Christians - whether they believe in predestination, free will, or some middle ground between the two - may be edified by Spurgeon’s bold discussion.

Story
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Story
The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

Love Spurgeon, just not the narrator...
Spurgeon is amazing and I love his teaching...but...the narrator of this particular volume mispronounces many words including antinomian and others that should have been practiced and fluid when reading a sermon from Surgeon's time, especially one of this topic. His voice is very mechanical, and distracted me constantly from the message. I really wish that wonderful messages like this one would have professional narration, such as Max Maclean, etc.
