Publisher's Summary

The Culture of Honor is a book of reformation. It is intended to disrupt our current model of authority. Jesus put it like this in Matthew 20:25-26: "But Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. Those with power must learn to empower those around them or we will never build Heaven on the Earth."

Life changing book!

Cultivating a culture of honor and even defining what that looks like has been a question in my heart for several months now. I was directed to this book after some circumstances that could have led to enormous offense with some of my brothers and sisters. God really spoke to me through this book as I was working through and processing what happened. It kept me from offense and sped of my process of repentance and searching for what the Lord would have wanted me to honor them with!

This book partners well with the other books by Danny Silk, and builds off of solid, biblical teaching. He looks at scripture differently and teaches differently than any other pastor I've experienced. While meaty, the contract is accessible and easy to sit with and understand. Thank you so much for writing this book!

A must if you want to see heaven brought to earth.

A fantastic book explaining what must happen in the hearts of man, church leadership, and in today's churches so that they are in proper alignment with God so that heaven can be brought to earth.

A truly life-changing read!

This book provokes the reader to question what things we as the Church are doing just because they are traditions of men versus what things Jesus actually modeled for us. It challenges the status quo and causes us to realize that Jesus is the only model for us to follow. This is a powerful book that holds keys to reformation and transformation. I'll definitely be referring back to this!

Underwhelmed but good for someone else

I enjoy Danny Silk and His ministry but this book was hard to read. I felt he jumped around a lot and I was very underwhelmed by this book that I had great expectations for. Maybe it was because I had already come to know these revelations. I bless anyone else to read it but it just wasn't for me right now.

More impact full each time it is read!

More impact full each time it is read! If this was required reading (and understanding) in churches, non-profits, behavioral health organizations and educational institutions, we would be much more healthy, loving, authentic and frankly, relevant, to society.

Really enlightening

I really enjoyed this book. It’s very easy to listen to but it gently deals with healthy confrontation which is so important. This book demonstrates a lot grace and it’s refreshing as it stands out legalism.

Good book, but let down by Audible.

Great book with loads of thought provoking material, will refer back to it again. Great reading too. Occasionally I thought it came across a little Bethal Church has it all sorted, but on the whole it was a good book. I guess Danny can only write about his experiences, which centre around his church.

The loss of a star was because the PDF which is referred to several times, that should have come with the audiobook, as per text of book, was not included with the book. I contacted Audible who passed me around the houses, but failed to provide said PDF.

Unexpectedly good

Danny Silk's teaching on honour WILL impact you. At risk of sounding cliche, this isn't just another book on fostering a culture of honour. Listen and be genuinely encouraged in your pursuit of Christlike honour and heavenly-love-inspired demonstrative pastoral kickassery.
