Publisher's summary

When she needed a hand, she found a paw.

Tessa's dream of becoming a veterinary tech crashes after her fiercely supportive fiancée dies in a tragic accident. Mourning her loss and desperate to move forward, Tessa must prove she can handle the pressures of working in a real-life clinic before she can start her new life.

Princess doesn't mean to be high maintenance, but trust comes hard to the brokenhearted, and her near-constant anxiety makes her practically unadoptable. Tessa is the only human who's ever made Princess feel safe enough to come out of her shell.

When a mysterious illness breaks out at Pretty Paws, can this heartbroken dog and grieving human team up to save the shelter's sick dogs?

Reign of Terrier is the second book in the Soul Mutts series, heartwarming stories of lost dogs finding new homes with the humans they were born to heal.

This story was saved by the excellent narrator.

It was hard listening to a story about someone who had so much self-doubt. I can’t say I really enjoyed the insecure protagonist, but the narration of the book was so good that I stuck with it.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the second book I’ve read from the same author.

I look forward to enjoying more of this authors work. I love animals and happy endings!

Reign of Terrier

If you like dogs & the humans who adopt them from Pretty Paws Animal Shelter to give them a good home, you will like this series. Not only will you get to hear their human’s story but you’ll hear the dog’s perspective as well. I have enjoyed both books in the Soul Mutts series so far.

Soul mutts book 2

This was a really good story. The characters were believable. The narrator was amazing. The story was very realistic, entertaining and informative. I highly recommend it. The only thing that is negative about the stories is the dog thinking human like thoughts, and having human like ideas. I wish that part was a little more realistic, but I have to say book 2 was a lot better than book one.

The power of a pet

I liked this story because it shows how a dog can help someone suffering from anxiety and/or depression. Also, it is an example of how to be a friend. The author did a great job of showing this. I also was able to visualize this story. The narrator read through the story very smoothly. Although she didn’t change voices between characters, the conversation was easy to understand.

Too neurotic for me

The main character drove me nuts. I could not finish it. And for some reason I thought this was a cozy mystery. My fault.

Too much neurosis

This author must write only about neurotic self-absorbed women. The character in the first book just drove me crazy second-guessing herself, obsessing about everything. I could barely make it through the book. I decided to try the next one to see if she wants going to use the same MO. She does. Not my cup of tea.
