Resumen del Editor

A relentlessly twisting and exciting novel, Deception Game is perfect for fans of James Phelan, Chris Ryan and Vince Flynn.

With enemies closing in, time is running out for Ryan Drake. Shaken by a personal tragedy that forces him to return to the UK, he is presented with a dangerous offer - to travel to Libya and kidnap a high-ranking officer in Gaddafi’s much-feared intelligence service. In exchange, Drake will be given everything he needs to destroy the CIA’s corrupt deputy director, Marcus Cain.

Drake gathers a group of trusted allies and embarks on his most difficult mission yet. But with the desert heat blazing and a civil war looming, events soon spiral out of control. To finish the job and get the team out alive, Drake must unravel a web of deceptions and betrayals and confront the rise of a shadowy new group that threatens to change everything.

Good stuff.

As with the rest of the series it’s well-written and just a good fun thriller. The reading is excellent.

The whole is better than the part.

Will Jordan is really putting together a very good series.

I will mention more negatives than positives only because the number of negatives is small and the number of positives is really too long to specifically list.

1st, there is an editing mistake towards the end of the story when Franklin is speaking with Cain.

2nd, we really do not need to suffer through quite as long of a of a difficult time as Ryan did trecking across the Libyan desert. That section of the story took forever and really could have been more economical. I just about jumped ahead.

3rd, as a tactical guy myself, do these characters have some sort of allergy to picking up additional weapons or ammunition?

They struggled with ammunition shortage of the single most common bullet in the world, 9x19mm. There were several people that used that ammunition and it was plainly attainable.

Why didn't they take the weapons from guards that they had incapacitated? Don't know.

They were dealing with equipment and ammunition shortage the entire time. Wouldn't it stand to reason that they would desire to desire to pick up some even if they were to sleep over their shoulder?

4th, why do Sam and Kiera both have Boston accents? It bugs me over time.

At any rate, the only other real criticism I have is behind how Mr. Hunt must have been awfully daft to think there was no threat to him once he did what he did (no spoiler here).

At any rate, the story was good. The plot moved and characters developed. Some character changes are occurring in front of your eyes, over chapters. Other characters are on an arc over several books.

Well done Will.

There are twists, surprises, disappointments, deeply satisfying moments, and generally a reader shouldn't sleep on what's happening because the foreshadowing isn't one-dimensional. Even unpleasant surprises are understandable in hindsight to have made grim sense.

Well done again Will.

Solid piece of work

I wasn't expecting much from the Critical drinker but he surprised me. Apparently alcohol and good writing do go together. Deception is a straight forward action-military thriller. Will Jordan pays more attention to character development then most books I've listened to including the Joe Ledger Series and the Jack Carrs James Reece. It reads like a TV Miniseries and I can't wait to see what happens next season. I cared about all the characters and the action was very realistic. To the point and dramatic. Overall it's very memorable for me and I'm listening to the series for the second time this week. So I recommend this book and the entire series. It gets better every issue. "Go away now!"

Crap

Too much of too much. Draws out each and every moment with too much blah blah blah. Drake is a deplorable main character. Portrayed as some champion for the little man. Reminds me of politician. Acts as though his decisions are made for others when in fact that’s a lie, every choice is self serving. He’s a disgusting human being

Frost is more of a man

Fast forwarded through a lot of the emotional drivel and hand wringing, too much drama
