Publisher's Summary

With brand new material exclusive to this Updated American Edition, here - in his own words - is the story of the newest member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Fame, Britain's own Rocky Balboa, Michael Bisping.

Featuring an entirely new chapter for US readers, the story of his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, fresh insights about his fighting career, never-before-told stories about his film and TV career, and a harrowing account of his fighting off attempted kidnappers while filming in South Africa, Quitters Never Win tells the incredible story of how he went from rough and humble beginnings and then on to a legendary mixed martial arts career capped by winning the Middleweight Championship in one of the greatest upsets in UFC history.

Loaded with the humor and brutal honesty that first won him a following on the television show Ultimate Fighter 3, Bisping recounts his record setting 13-year fight career battling the likes of Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and Dan Henderson.

The most engaging UFC color analyst in recent memory, and a budding film and television star, Bisping tells his story in a way that only he knows how.

Good Book

Bisping's story is a good one. I think this would have been a 5 star review if Bisping himself had read the audiobook. The narrator does a decent job but lacks the passion & emotion that Bisping would have brought.

Best MMA of fight book yet.

The only reason I didn’t give the book a complete five star review is due to the fact I would have like Michael to read and narrate the book himself.

Great story of a UFC pioneer

Didn't really care for the narrator and wish Bisping would have went more in depth of his struggles growing up. Quite a bit of "fast forwarding" and might have used the word "literally" a bit too much 😉

amazing listen

I burned through this book in a couple days. The narrator was good, but I wish the author had narrated it, but I understand why he didn't.

I highly recommend this book for UFC fans

It was so interesting to see the career from THE COUNT'S point of view. This was a heck of a book and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic story with awful narration.

If you're an MMA fan, Bisping's story is great. It reads as though he's telling you his story over a few beers at your favorite bar, with loads of his signature brand of humor. It's probably not a great book for someone unfamiliar with the sport of mixed martial arts, as it assumes the reader is already familiar with the history of the UFC and the people and personalities that make up the sport.

This is also not a deep soul-searching book explaining the psychology of the fighter. However, if you're already a Bisping fan (or if you deeply hate him), this is a fun book that will give you a deeper view into his history, motivations, and opinions around the sport. I already appreciated Bisping, and after reading this, I genuinely like the guy.

Unfortunately the narrator is absolutely terrible. It would appear his only qualifications were "I also have a British accent." Throughout the book, he mispronounced nearly every single MMA fighter's name, a mistake that is unforgivable in an era where finding the correct pronunciation is only a two-second google search away.

Cowley's emphasis on words was also really terrible, suggesting that he hadn't read any of the book before recording it.

It's truly a shame that such a likeable book was narrated by such an unprofessional narrator. It does Bisping and the listener a true disservice, particularly when the author is now in the business of talking for a living.

Despite the narrator's horrible performance, it's still one of the best mma books I have encountered, and I recommend it (ideally in print.)
