All over the place

The story went a million places to end in 30 seconds. Very disappointing and unlike the early scarpetta novels.

Not a favorite

The narrator had lack of voice character differences. Also, it was too convoluted a plot. All characters seemed angry about something to no point.

how bad the reader was

I love her books but I did not like the lady that read this book. She isn't anything like the others and is really kills the book for me. I wish I could find someone else the does audio on in.

Captivated

This book was everything. I couldn’t get enough. Ready to listen to another one. This is the very reason I love Patrica Cornwell and the character Dr. Scarpetta.

Finally!

I have not enjoyed the audio versions of the first books in the series because of the narrator, but this book - this is the narrator the series needed from the beginning! Plot was great and just the right number of twists!

Good but too much

This was much better than book 13, but it got a little overwhelming with twists and turns. This is probably the creepiest of the series thus far, and it goes overboard. Too much.

the Twist

This was way more fast paced than the last but it's also 10 years later...I think. It was twisty and turny and I did not expect the ending. I feel comfortable that will not ruin it because it was completely unexpected, you won't figure it out until the very last few chapters. You think you know, but you don't.

This was definitely very graphic, so trigger warnings for gore and violence, reference to SA, and the POV of a very messed up/unhinged/sadistic/etc individual. Like I felt a bit uncomfortable while reading it, as any sane person should. This one felt as exciting as her others hat I have liked. There was drama but there was also a lot of creepy, suspensful, thriller type things. I feel bad for Lucy in more ways than one. Hopefully things turn around for her in the next one. Marino...What a change!? Well, let's just say as much as a character like Marino can change, iykyk. Pick up this series if you have not already! #ontothenextone

Great twist!

Another excellent book in the Kay Scarpetta series. Love how the author always uses real places & real current events interwoven into the story. Having lived in Hollywood Florida for many years, I can picture the environment vividly, with the citrus canker and all!
January LaVoy did a great job acting out & narrating this book. I do have to say, at first, I was a bit shook when her character voices didn’t match the previous books’, especially Detective Marino’s voice. I was spoiled by the previous narrator, as she had been so good at getting Marino’s Jersey accent on. But once I got deeper into the story I got used to Ms LaVoy & it didn’t matter. Ms Cornwell writes crime, victims, & description of the heinous crimes like no other. This one was gut-wrenching with a wonderful twist!

Couldn't get enough!

I always hate when a good book is over! This one will definitely get read again!!

Classic Cornwell. Intelligently written. Detailed character development. Another superb plot with a clever twist at the end.
