Publisher's Summary

Can learning another language be as easy as speaking your own? Yes - with Pimsleur it's that easy. Learn on your own time, at your own pace, and wherever you choose.

German Level 1 Lessons 21-25 builds on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak German. These units contain reading lessons designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

Critic Reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

Needs update

Some expressions not even Germans use. Needs to be update. Or Germans will think you speak like a weirdo.

Good program but not excellent

Hope the conversation lasts longer and more explanations on the grammar. Overall, it is a good introduction to learn German. But the audible book is expensive.

Pimslaur German

This is a really good learning program. Really easy and simple: you only need to listen and the language starts to stick to you effortlessly... I usually listen to it while driving and I find myself remembering each lesson after listening it only a few times. Very impressive as I do not consider myself talented in language learning. I can recommend this product to anybody.

Requires explanation

Up until this point I have given the course five stars but I’m really starting to get confused and can see that no explanations are going to be given.
I really need a full explanation of how the gender of a word affects other words within the sentence because I cannot see any pattern emerging like I did when I did the Pimsleur Finnish course.
As the word order and gender seem to be so irregular and confusing, I am going to switch to the Paul Noble course where I know explanations are given and then come back to Pimsleur later. I know that he given full explanations that make perfect sense.
I am not new to the language so I really can’t see how a complete beginner could run with this course alone.

best language resorse I've ever tried.

I've tried quite a few language programs with varied results but this is by far the most affective. I'm past the age where this stuff comes easily but I don't seem to suffer the boredom or brick walls that I would associate with other courses.
The language is starting to stitch together nicely and naturally now.
Impressive.
