Publisher's summary
For the first time in unabridged audio download comes the perennial classic from Stephen King - timeless and topical.
The house looked right, felt right to Dr Louis Creed. Rambling, old, unsmart and comfortable. A place where the family could settle, the children grow and play and explore. The rolling hills and meadows of Maine seemed a world away from the fume-choked dangers of Chicago.
Only the occasional big truck out on the two-lane highway, grinding up through the gears, hammering down the long gradients, growled out an intrusive threat. But behind the house and far away from the road: that was safe. Just a carefully cleared path up into the woods where generations of local children have processed with the solemn innocence of the young, taking with them their dear departed pets for burial.
A sad place maybe, but safe. Surely a safe place. Not a place to seep into your dreams, to wake you, sweating with fear and foreboding.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Slow start leads to a gripping story
The fact that many of the details is from real events in Stephen King’s life gives this story a more realistic or “normal” feel. The slow start also adds to that realism. The “power” among other things are never fully explained which adds to the mystery and suspense. I specifically enjoyed the ending but did not appreciate the abusive behaviour towards the cat after his metamorphosis. Also think the women’s character is a bit cliché (irrational, overly emotional, childish reactions etc.) - she lacks depth. Apart from that, still a gripping tale - definitely worth the listen.

Was ok.
To be honest I am disappointed with the book.I thought, because has been made into a movie, it would be a great book.
Story was meandering and not very climactic. Rather labored.

Brilliant
As usual with Stephen King the book tickled that primal fear deep within us all. And Michael C Hall brilliantly performs to bring forth that fear. 10/10

Sucked Into The Story
This has been quite easily one of the best audiobooks I have had the pleasure of listening to. Michael C. Hall’s performance had me completely immersed in the telling of a modern classic horror story written and read so perfectly it brought tears to my eyes and had the hair standing to attention on the back of my neck.

Great narrator but the story is boring
I bought this audiobook because of the rave reviews. I wanted to like this book but halfway through the book, the story still didnt pick up and I decided to just return it. The narrator is great but the story was disappointing.
