Publisher's summary

Let's face it, we can't control every aspect of our lives, and the fact is a lot of things we stress about are out of our direct control.

The ancient philosophy of Stoicism still stands the test of time and is still practiced in society today all over the world. This is the art of living in true happiness, as stoic principles guide us to live in harmony and flow with life's many challenges.

Many times we are taught and encouraged to take more of an aggressive and combative stance towards life's difficulties; however, in this guide to stoic mastery, you will learn how to overcome tribulation through virtue, controlling your emotions, endurance, mindfulness, and affirmations.

The stoic way of life can be compared to that of water; the very nature of water entails the state of being fluid, flexible, dynamic, and contains a property of flow, not causing discord but creating perfect harmony. Water doesn't try to shift, force, or demand itself among its surroundings but, on the contrary, aligns itself in harmony with nature.

What you'll learn in part one:

  • What is Stoicism
  • Understanding your emotions
  • Staying calm in the midst of tribulation
  • Flowing like water within your surroundings
  • How to become happy regardless of your situation
  • Learning how to re-frame your mind and make the best of your circumstances

There's more....

What you'll learn in part two:

  • Recognizing the things you can control
  • Practicing gratitude in our lives
  • Learning how to be virtuous
  • How to practice some mindfulness
  • How to be patient
  • Finding inner peace within yourself without being effected

enlightening

I found this book satisfying, not displeasing, and quite profitable for contemplation of wisdom and virtue. I have used the psychological exercises in the book and experienced greater tranquility and equanimity in adversity. I've accomplished a lot in my life recently with the aid of stoicism, and plan to the original texts next. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

help us eventually

This anger does not come from outside but it is a product of how I process my thoughts and emotions. They go hand in hand. You think what you feel and you feel what you think. Such realization tends to offer me a new way of looking at the circumstances that my life brings. As I understood, Stoicism means to live life in the harmony with nature. Stoicism includes Pantheism, Adiaphora, Rational control over passion, etc. Ethics, logic, and physics are the main parts of stoic education. Stoicism means endurance, tolerance and even acceptance which everyone should have because this is how life should be. Overall, I learned lot of important aspects of stoicism and how can it develop our entire life.

short book

.
It would be perfect if you want to introduce someone to stoicism who had never heard of it, just to see if it sparks an interest.
The fact that it was free makes it even more appealing.
Definitely worth the time to listen this short book.

wow,excellent

Since this is another book for me I am truly reluctant on perusing this one yet on account of my companion who suggested me this book since it got my consideration. I now comprehend what is the genuine significance of stoicism. I am extremely cheerful in light of the fact that I would now be able to apply those things that i have learnt in this book at this moment. the time has come to share this to my companions.
