Michael Troughton did an okay job as narrator see if you can get James Langton back for fifth book
looking forward to deadspawn keep bringing out these books and i'll keep buying

Just as good

Ok some points

1. The narrator has been getting complaints. It’s really not that bad guys and girls. He had a pleasant voice. Sure the pronunciations aren’t correct or how we heard them in the previous books but it’s not the end of the world. In the US editions it’s Vamphyri in the UK and rest of the world is Wamphyri (he pronounces it wamfurry) other words like Sigil have that hard G, Thibor is said like it’s spelled with that TH like This and The.

But it’s not horrible. You’ll get used to it. Trust me.

2. The story is just as good. Harry loses his Necroscope abilities and has to get them back, the entire book focuses on that

3 the main villain Janos is hit and miss. Great inteoduction and menacing, then disappears then comes back blah blah the ending like all of these books so far is a bit anti climactic for me.

Just feels a bit rushed with that ending

Otherwise great novel.

Book 2 is still my fav though.

I'm sorry but pronouncing "vamphyri" the same way as "belfry", just detracts so much from the enjoyment of the book.

Necroscope series is awesome

Having read the books, I wasn't a fan of this narrator, but the story is 5 stars

Mispronounced easy words

Whomever read the first 3 books did a fantastic job. This performer often mispronounced easy words and the special voice effects took me right out of the story.

Great Story -BUT

i love the necroscope books, and I've loved listening to them. I was nervous about the new narrator, and for a while I was satisfied with his performance, until i heard him pronounce 'vamphyrii'. Every time he said it I wanted to scream.

A stepping stone to stronger story lines

I loved this series when I read them in my youth and am now enjoying revisiting them thanks to Audible. This is not the best story in the series, but is an essential stepping stone to better and darker things.

Enjoyed the story. Tough beginning.

I've listened to the previous Necroscope novels on Audible and the change in narration (new narrator and new effects) was very difficult to get through. Almost stopped altogether but glad I didn't. Last 2/3rd of the book, I didn't even notice and enjoyed the book very much.
