Kate Adams is a working mother. Armed with her charm and wit, she hustles for tips at a small French restaurant in New York City. Her longtime boyfriend, Carl Keaton, owns said restaurant.
On a busy night - while the piggish, dinnertime horde is happily devouring the upscale slop - Carl is stabbed in the throat in the men's bathroom.
Kate teams up with the chef, Bobby Bergeron, to figure out who could have killed the seemingly sweet restaurateur. The cunning assassin could be any one of Carl's underpaid and oversexed employees.
