Publisher's Summary

Glasgow in the 1950s. Private investigator Lennox is keeping a low profile, enjoying a secret fling with the daughter of shady bookie and greyhound breeder MacFarlane. When MacFarlane is found bludgeoned to death, Lennox is a suspect. Luckily, he has a solid gold alibi: he was in bed with the victim’s daughter.

Lennox is quickly drawn into hunting the killer. It turns out MacFarlane was into some seriously dodgy stuff. One of Glasgow’s notorious Three Kings, crime boss Willie Sneddon, is involved, and he’s not a man Lennox wants to cross. But there’s an even bigger player lurking in the shadows, and it looks like Lennox is going to get his fingers burnt - badly.

    "Authentic period thriller"

Even better than " Lennox" with a very good plot and authentic atmosphere for Glasgow in the fifties. I grew up there in the late fifties and it feels just about right. Looking forward to the promised third book in the series.

    "excellent"

A fantastic story once again from this author. kept the interest throughout with many twists and turns. The narrator does a brilliant job with capturing the accents some very challenging like Scots- Polish. The story has some good funny moments fir what is generally a serious subject. well done all concerned.

    "Outstanding!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Long Glasgow Kiss to be better than the print version?

I have not read the printed version. How ever Lennox book 1 got me hitched to Craig Russell and the this story confirmed my decision as correct. The boy has something here with a wicked story line twisting and turning to a perfect ending all capped by superb narrative by Sean Barrett that has me chomping at the bit to download the next book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Long Glasgow Kiss?

    All of it

What about Sean Barrett’s performance did you like?

Sean has the perfect characturisation for the many faces of Glasgow with the right touch of humour stitched into the fabric. Thank you.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My father in law was a wishaw man who has sadly passed away. This brought back many memorys of him and although not Glaswegian he was close to the city. Seans charactures brought back many happy times i spent with him. x

"If only there weren't so many clichés"

Good story. Fantastic performance. Absolutely riddled with unnecessary clichés about Glasgow. I found it compelling and simultaneously cringe-worthy. Lennox is an interesting character and is like to see how he develops, but don't know if I could bear any more stereotypes.

    "Absolutely brilliant."

This is the second of the Lennox books and it's just terrific. The story unfolds at a gentle but engaging pace. Barrett's narration is simply wonderful. I've been impressed by his other work but his Scottish efforts are excellent. I absolutely recommend this.

"Bit 1950s Gangster film for me. Sorry!"

I tried really hard but the accent, the style of the book, even the genre really got on my nerves. I loathe not finishing books but sometimes it has to be done because something better is calling me on. Sorry, it just wasn't my cup of tea!

    "What a find!"

I was initially drawn to this title due to its being a deal of the day, and being narrated by Sean Barrett, who is simply brilliant.

Very early into the book, I was hooked. The combination of a highly entertaining lead, gritty supporting characters and a great story, made this a winner, for me.

I will be searching out the other titles in this series very soon.
