2nd review in years

I do love these books but at this stage I wish the author would not repeat so many phrases like descriptions of the wife's hair for instance. I cringe now when I hear the dozen or so repeated phrases. But the books are always full of knowledge about others struggles, histories, and the relationships to past struggles to today's world issues. So I'll always read Silva's books but only the ones George Guidal narrates. Guidal is a timely treasure.

3rd time listening and still love it

Daniel Silva has created a wonderful character in Gabrielle Allon, only rivaled by Vince Flynn’s character Mitch Rapp!

Can’t get enough of this series!

I love everything about this series and George is the master! The characters, the plot, the geography, the history and the humor are interwoven into a masterpiece which is in no need of restoration! I’m listening to the entire series for the second time and enjoying it just as much. Thank you Daniel!

Another of Daniel Silva's best spy novels.

The English Girl is lucky #13, released in 2013, in the Gabriel Allon series. As another reviewer notes Gabriel Allon is getting older (nearing age 50) and noticeably slowing down. An young English woman has gone missing on the Mediterranean island of Corsica and Allon is grudgingly drawn back into his career in Israeli intelligence. Suspense builds as plot twists demonstrate again and again that nothing is as it seems. George Guidall narrates superbly.

A reminder: Novel #17 in the Allon series titled House of Spies will be released on July 11, 2017.

Still good but not the best

What made the experience of listening to The English Girl the most enjoyable?

I always enjoy these books, I learn so much about the history of many parts of the world.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The English Girl?

The big twist...you will have to listen to it yourself.

Any additional comments?

The accents are great except for the British accent for some reason-it was very bad.
