Publisher's Summary

Thirty-six-year-old Nina Spark has done something crazy. After knocking back a night's worth of wine, she's bought a house in the Caribbean. Off the Internet. At 2:00 a.m.

Committing to the most impulsive decision she's ever made, Nina leaves her cheating ex-husband behind, puts her teaching career in New York on hold, and moves to Pineapple Cay - a land of white sand, cloudless skies, and turquoise waters.

Her new life is off to a lovely start: she's got a private beach, a handsome neighbor, and a cushy travel-writing assignment. Even Barry Bassett, a greedy land developer eager to push her out to make way for condos, can't darken her sunny new outlook.

But when Barry's wife goes missing, along with a priceless jeweled necklace, Nina finds herself at the center of the island's biggest whodunit. With her quirky but fiercely loyal new friends, Nina is determined to solve the mystery - so both she and Pineapple Cay can get back to easy living.

A Recipe for Perfect

Great plot. Tropical setting - who doesn't love it. Wonderful characters-funny and quirky. And topped off with a really really good narrator. All the ingredients for a most enjoyable book.

Surprisingly good

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when I first started it. I'm glad I kept reading it. This is a very interesting and realistic book with engaging characters. I look forward to the next book.

crude language and unendearing characters

An okay mystery, but the vulgarity ruined it for me. Narrator was good, but I had to turn down the speed and the volume. I like a good mystery but not the crudeness, so I won't listen to the 2nd book.

Human Rainbow & Pet Unicorn

I love reader Angela Dawe so I tried this author. (Pre ordered deal)
I have over a hundred of her reads. Don’t miss Julie Garwoods Sweet Talk. I had not been the fan I am now and I wish I could go back and change that review to excellent!
Yes, you must get use her rhythm but her male voice is great. I love Danish in this book. He has zest of life. This is a simple feel good very light mystery. Buy on sale only.
Reader’s Scott’s accent is the best for historical romances and great for Nora Roberts MacGregor series.
If you like good mysteries, see Marcia Clark series that ms Dawe reads. She hit her stride

Just okay

The story was good. A little hard to follow. I am not a fan of the orator. Might want to listen first to ensure that you will be okay.

If only I could get past the narrator

I can't actually review the story, itself. Borrowed via Kindle unlimited with narration. This narrator has such annoying and distracting verbal... tics. Not sure what to call it really. Problem is I can't get immersed into the story when the narrator is making me attempt to analyze what it is about her read that's distracting me. A slight lisp? That weird way she wavers at the end of a narrative? Next thing I know I've missed that part of the actual story. I gave up.
