Publisher's Summary

Louie Cogburn had spent three days holed up in his apartment, staring at his computer screen. His pounding headache was unbearable - like spikes drilling into his brain. And it was getting worse. Finally, when someone knocked at his door, Louie picked up a baseball bat, opened the door, and started swinging...

The first cop on the scene fired his stunner twice and Louie died instantly. Detective Eve Dallas has taken over the investigation, but there's nothing to explain the man's sudden rage or death. The only clue is a bizarre message left on his computer screen: Absolute Purity Achieved.

And when a second man dies under nearly identical circumstances, Dallas starts racking her brain for answers and for courage to face the impossible... that this might be a computer virus able to spread from machine to man....

Great story

Showed a softer side of Eve. Showed that she can let others in and she can care about others. She's learning what it means to have a family and close friends. As always Susan did an AWESOME job of narrating. I'm so glad they stayed with her and didn't which up. I think it would lose something if they change narrators.

Great Interaction with Side Characters

This one wasnt all about the case, but had some great moments with side characters. I loved that the boy came back, and we get to see him growing up.

the ending surprised me, but was believable and had good basis.

Another good one!

Best Lt Eve to date.

This is the best of the series to date. Complicated and complex with a satisfying wrap up. Narrator is the best. Highly recommend this audiobook.

Another hit

Once again JDRobb and Susan Ericksen team for another spelling binding adventure of Lt Eve Dallas. Really showed the more gentle side of Dallas.

First I enjoyed in a while

This book was good. The mystery was engaging. The secondary characters were fantastic as always. Eve and Roarke were good too. The relationships are normally the only reason I read these books but the mystery was intriguing in this one. [Still solved it at 25%.]

Eve's reluctance to deal with her past was less in evidence here. It is hard to see how the author is able to link every single case to something in Eve's past but somehow she let's Eve be narcissistic enough to do so. An LC is killed- Eve somehow relates it to herself. A child is killed- all about Eve. Someone is robbed then murdered- all about Eve. This one had little of that so it was enjoyable.

Onto the next.....

Purity in Death

Even though I’ve read this one several times years ago, I still couldn’t get through this audio fast enough. Eve kicked ass, again! One of the best series and best audios. The narrator rocks!

love this series

I have to say I have truly enjoyed this series, and this was one of the better episodes.
I do skip over some of the sex as it is a little too much for my taste, but I do love their passion.

Purity in Death

And they just get better. Well narrated, love the comical interludes, the twists at the end.
