Some Killers Come Back For More

The killer's depravity is insatiable. What he does to his victims is unthinkable. Homicide detective turned P.I. Frank Quinn has seen this M.O. before. A demented ritual, it's the work of Daniel Danielle - a notorious serial killer who blurs the line between male and female, human and monster. Danielle disappeared ten years ago. Is a copy cat repeating the crimes? Or has Danielle made a deadly return? Either way, this time the killing won't stop....

This Narrator Always Comes Through

I actually like books by this author but, after a time, they all tend to follow the same type of story line. What keeps me listening to them is Scott Brick. He can turn any story, good or poor, into a winner. Some other listeners are not so enthralled by his type of narration but it works for me.

Kept my interest...

One of the reasons that I like the mystery genre is that I like solving the crime. This one really had me guessing. Well worth the credit.

Another Excellent Thriller by Lutz

What did you love best about Pulse?

John Lutz's style of story telling keeps the player running. A web of characters and story lines that converge to a fantastic ending. Scott Brick, once again sits atop the narrator's ladder with his flawless delivery.

Liked it.

The book was a good book and kept me engaged. I feel that the book fell flat at the end. Seems like there was a rush to finish which left the ending uninspiring.

Will try one more, but these are losing steam

Been enjoying all of them up to this one but this one just didn't hold my interest in the same way. I'll try the next, however.

Just ok

This was neither heart thumping nor flat-line. It was just OK. I have read other books from this author and I have yet to be wowed by him. I will however keep trying.

Same ole, Same ole

Any additional comments?

If it wasn't for Brick I wouldn't even bother. I started listening from the beginning and Lutz must have forgotten that he mentioned certain things in previous books. Like Felderman's wife divorced him in book 2 of the series. It was mentioned in last book that wife died. The killer in this book actually worked with Q & A in a previous book ( haven't finished yet). I must like llistening to Scott.....

Eye-popping scene descriptions

Would you consider the audio edition of Pulse to be better than the print version?

Yes

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes.The way that the killer was so slowly, methodical whenever he killed someone almost made me feel as though someone was sneaking up behind me,lol.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

The intonation of his voice did not sound like he was only reading a book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did snicker a few times.

Any additional comments?

I will be reading the second book of this series next.

Graphic perversion

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Is there a way to fast forward without skipping a chapter when using an iPod Shuffle? If so, I could have finished this audio book. Loved the narrator and the storyline with Pearl, her daughter and Quinn! Just could not under any guise of entertainment listen to how perverted this killer was. Seriously, we don't need to play can you top this is perversion and gruesomeness in order to have a good who dunit
