Fast-paced mystery thriller
This is my first Harlan Coben book and I enjoyed it. This is a fast paced mystery thriller that never let up. Coben is a good story teller and the protagonists were likable. The story begins as a doctor wakes up after nearly being killed. His wife was shot dead and his baby daughter has gone missing. As I read the story, I saw that Coben was introducing a lot of potential red herrings. Truthfully, I saw through them and midway through the story I correctly guessed the “inside” person. This book is definitely in the popcorn thriller genre which means you have to accept a good dose of unreality and not expect high literature. I did like that all the characters acted consistently. All in all, a very enjoyable and absorbing read. I was always anxious to get back to it and listen to what came next.

Liked most of the book
I enjoyed most of the book but the ending was just too rushed and throwing in too many different angles. I don’t like it when you get to know a character all the way through the book and then at the end you discover some deep dark bad secret. It just doesn’t work for me.

I missed all my TV shows that day, stayed up until 3 am to finish this book, it was exciting. Scott Brick was great, he kept the excitement going

Clever story, great narration
