Publisher's Summary

In the final book in bestselling author Catherine Bybee's Most Likely To trilogy, River Bend's rebel follows in her father's footsteps to become sheriff. But it might be time to forge her own path...

Some kids inherit a family business; Jo Ward inherited a badge. Once voted Most Likely to End Up in Jail, the town wild child has become sheriff - hell-bent on uncovering the truth about her father's mysterious death. Life is quiet in rustic River Bend, but Jo longs for something beyond her small hometown and the painful memories it holds. All that keeps her sane is the support of her best friends, Melanie and Zoe.

But when Jo signs up for an expert law enforcement training seminar, she meets Gill Clausen, whose haunting eyes and dangerously sexy vibe just may challenge her single-minded focus. Commitment-phobic Jo can't deny her attraction to the arrogant federal agent, and when odd things start happening around River Bend and danger surrounds her, she realizes she'll need his help to discover who's out to remove her from River Bend...permanently.

As Jo and Gill work together, it's clear they make a great team. But can Jo loosen her grip on the past enough to let love in and reach for the future?

    "Frosting on the cake"

This was an outstanding ending to a delightful series. Jo and Gil are a cute couple, that fit in perfectly with the other couples. I love all three books but find this one to be my favorite. It is always a pleasure to revisit other characters in a series. Although one could read these out of order I personally recommend they be read in order. I for one would love to see another book with all three couples later in life and with children of their own. Catherine Bybee is an excellent author. Throw in Cristina Panfilio and you have one delightful audio book.

"A great ending to this Trilogy"

Making It Right, is a great ending to the Most Likely trilogy. To me, the first book was a B-, then books 2 & 3 get A's. I like Mel better as a secondary character I guess. I just didn't warm up to her as much as I did Zoey & Jo. I like ALL of Bybee's books. My favorite are her fantasy time travel Highlander's series.

Great book. I have reread it and was amazed that it was better the second time around. I found things I missed because I was so caught up in the story.

    "Very slow to develop"

I found this book boring, not like her other two in the series. It took too long to develop.

"OK read and better than OK narration.."

The first half of this book was just filler: Jo going to DC and going to a dive bar and picking up Rocco and having sex with him, a complete stranger. Then meeting that stranger (Gill) the next day at the place where she’s going to learn shooting, hand-to-hand combat, driving instructions and negotiations. Just what the sheriff of a town of a few hundred would need when the worst going on there is a pothole and too many dogs at one old woman’s house. Then Gill show up in town and all the gossip begins. I was ready to quit reading at 50% but I read on, hoping the second half of the book would get better, since on reviewer on Amazon said this. “There is a thick current of dark and disturbing in this book which ruined the story.” BUT that reviewer was full of it. There was nothing dark or disturbing about any part of this book.

Actually, the best part of the book was the last 20%. 80% was nothing but filler, and unnecessary filler at that, about people I was not remotely interested in. I’ve read Catherine Bybee’s Weekday Brides and the Not Quite series and the MacCoinnich Time Travel Series, and I loved all of them but this last series was just not for me. I liked the Gill and Jo but I just didn’t care for the story itself. I will NOT give up on CB but I’m glad this series is over.

There was explicit sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 6 times.

As to the narration: Cristina Panfilio did a very good job on the on the voices and most of the emotions.

    "Worth the wait"

Like all her books' Catherine Bybee did a great job writing this book. In this third instalment, we see Jo, the last of the three friends (Mel & Zoe) find her father's killer and a romantic interest, who's sexy and loveable. Hats off to the author for having strong female characters and secondary characters all with depth and a great plot.

Good paced dialogue and story line. The story was both exciting and enjoyable to listen to. Catherine is one of the best story tellers across a few genres . Well recommended .
