Publisher's Summary
An Amazon Charts bestseller
A woman’s journey through tragedy leads to the discovery of love in a novel about hope and survival by New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee.
When a wildfire nearly destroys Parker Sinclair’s family home, it’s just one more disaster to add to her mountain of stress. For the past two years, she has shouldered the responsibility of raising her younger brother and sister after their parents’ untimely deaths. Forced to leave college for a crappy job that barely pays the bills, Parker manages her family property, which consumes every aspect of her life. Now winter is coming and the forecast isn’t spreading sunshine on the dark cloud over her head. The last thing Parker needs is a mudslide destroying everything she has worked so hard to maintain.
Colin Hudson’s job as a public works supervisor is to protect Parker’s property and neighborhood from further damage. But it’s a little hard when the owner of the land is a control freak who tries to do everything herself. The hardworking, attractive young woman is far from the “hot mess” she claims to be. In fact, her tight grip of control is one of the things that attract him the most. It’s also the hardest to crack. Now Colin’s working overtime to help Parker open up her heart, trust him, and let him in.
As Parker and Colin work together to keep her home and neighborhood safe, they may be in for another disaster. Or they may just realize that sometimes it takes destruction to create something new.
Critic Reviews

Raw and real - amazing with unexpected authenticity
Before I started this book, I expected to read (listen to) what I think of as a Catherine Bybee book. (Which I love - her books are wonderful.) Then I started listening.
Wow. This was not what I expected. It was real, raw, with amazing feeling and passion. The book is authentic. Even before I read the author’s note, The depth of feeling and knowledge shown made it authentic. It took place in a life that was foreign to me - all I knew of mudslides was what I saw on national tv. But I now felt it, felt like I lived it with Parker. I finally understood what life was like and why people choose to stay in their homes even given the dangers of fire and mudslides. And the characters - they are what made this real, understanding - and a true romance.
This book isn’t as polished as her other books, but that is what makes it powerful, captivating, and amazing. The characters, situation, relationships are developed and deep. As a parent of a teenage boy just younger than Parker’s brother, I can attest to the authenticity of Austin’s character. I’ve known people with aspects of many of the other characters’ personalities. This is part of what makes it real. True. Not just an escape book.
The narrator isn’t what I expected - but she is right for this book. She took this fantastic book and conveyed the characters, the feelings, the passion with deftness and emotion.
I can not recommend this book enough.

Disapointing - OK story with explicit sex
I love a good story and this book seemed to have all the makings for one. But it was just OK and I didn't finish it because it has graphic sex scenes. If you don't care for explicit sex scenes and would rather the author didn't go into that kind of detail, you are the reason I'm submitting this review. Hopefully it save you the trouble of purchasing, downloading, and returning this book.

Expected More
There was so much build up ahead of time for this book and I was so anxious for it to be released that I have to say I was really expecting much more drama and excitement than it produced. I know this book was based on personal experiences and don’t mean to downplay these in anyway however this is my honest opinion on the book. It began really well and I loved all of the characters throughout the entire book and came to care for all of them. Unfortunately the book became rather boring, with way too many descriptions that weren’t really necessary to the story in my opinion. I was so tempted to fast forward so many times but was afraid I would miss something important. I needn’t have worried because I wouldn’t have. The book picked up in the last hour and once again became exciting, unfortunately I felt as though it was almost rushed at the end. Having said all this, the book was well written, as all of Catherine Bybee books always are. The romance between Parker and Colin was sweet and I wish there had been more focus on that. I will definitely get the next book to see what happens with Erin. As for the narrator, I thought she did an okay job. Her male voices were quite weak and she seemed to pause inappropriately throughout the story.

Horrible narrator
I haven’t been able to pay attention to the story, because the narrator is so awful. No inflection, no flow to the story. I would describe it as choppy. I can only presume the positive reviews are from those that know the narrator personally. I have always like books by Catherine Bybee, just not a fan of this narrator.

Narration so bad that I stopped in first 5 minutes
Be aware that this review is of the audio book only. I rarely give such negative reviews, but this one deserves it. The story may be good (and I'm giving that three stars to be fair), but I don't know because I couldn't tolerate the narration morevthan a few minutes past the prologue. Barely better than a book read by Siri or Alexa. I couldn't imagine listening to TEN MORE HOURS of it. I've been an Audible listener for years and this is the worst fiction narration I've heard. Makes me appreciate the value a great narrator brings to this medium. Based on high reviews here, I may check out the print version to give this story a chance, but I'm returning the audio version.

Perseverance!
My Way to You by Catherine Bybee is an incredible story with hope and perseverance. I love the characters the author writes. She has them face realistic situations and struggles. The performance by Alicia Crow was flawless. She gave the characters distinguishable voices and inflected the right emotions. I loved the sweet romance of Parker and Collin in the story. I had read the ebook from Net Galley before listening to this audio. I loved both formats! I will definitely listen to more books by this author.

Not up to Catherine Bybee standard
I normally love Catherine Bybee books, but this one fell short. Got a bit boring and it didn’t help that the narrator was TERRIBLE.
