Publisher's summary

Acclaimed author Michael Simon’s fast-paced police dramas are a hit with fans and critics alike. In this hard-hitting sequel to Body Scissors Simon returns to the Austin, Texas, PD of 1995—a time when the state capital was changing under the guidance of its new governor. Det. Dan Reles looks at the high profile case of the murdered former child star as a way to jump start his career and his life after being dumped by the woman he loves. His investigation leads him to the most pious power broker in the state and a nightmare of cult leaders and blackmailers.

Critic reviews

“Tightly plotted, pithily phrased, and memorably cast, Little Faith sizzles with anger at hypocrisy as usual.” ( Booklist)

Good story. but lose the girlfriend.

If you could sum up Little Faith in three words, what would they be?

Lose the girlfriend!

Would you recommend Little Faith to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes I like the Dan Reles character, even if he is stupid when it comes to women. Seems to me he could do a lot better than Rachel. She is not a character that I could like or have any sympathy or empathy for. The story would have been so much better if Dan had found a better person to be involved with. She was flawed but not in a way that made you care about her. She was a terrible person and as mother she rated about like Joan Crawford.

What about Tom Stechschulte’s performance did you like?

I like his overall performance. He has a great voice and his narration is on the money, just right amount of drama for the story. I look for books he has narrated and often that is what makes me want to take a chance on a book. That is why I chose this book, the narrator was a big plus for this audio book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to this series of books mainly because I enjoy Tom Stechschulte's performance so much. I liked the stories for Dirty Sally and Body Scissors, even though some of the characters did not help the story at all. I read Little Faith in hopes that Rachel was out of the picture and Dan would wise up and find someone who was not so narcissistic. I can handle personal flaws in a character but there is a limit to how many flaws a person can have and still come across as a human being. But like a bad penny she turned up and now I can't decide if I care enough about the story to give the next book in the series a chance. Come on Mr. Simon, I know you can do better than Rachel. What a waste of a human being.
