Politics make for strange bedfellows

If you could sum up Lady Justice and the Assassin in three words, what would they be?

Politics really does make for strange bedfellows. The Neo-Nazis are teaming up with the Ozark Militia (a group that wants to do away with government control) to assassinate the President of the United States. Both groups dislike him for different reasons but have the same goal of getting him out of office before he can make too many changes they don't like. Once again Walt is in the right place at the right time and manages to thwart their assassination attempt on the President. When Walt takes off with the would-be assassin, an average Joe who has fallen on hard times and is desperate to take care of his family, the crazies come after them. After-all they had promised their assassin that if he took their money and failed to perform they would kill him and his entire family. Walt counts on the anger of the Neo-Nazis and the Ozark Militia and uses them to solve a completely unrelated problem.

I love these fun quirky books.

I have listened to the entire series. and each book keeps getting better. I have a huge library and these are among my favorites.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes i think i would. Normally i find the 20 different tentacles/off shoots/etc from the main story a bit distracting but this one didn't seem to have as many and they wrapped together pretty quickly which was wonderful.

What did you like best about this story?

I always love how Walt is just humble about his part in everything and just wants to do the job. no fuss, no muss.

Which character – as performed by George Kuch – was your favorite?

I always like walt and willie of course, but i also love the old lady that takes care of his building

Book 13

Robert Thornhill has a real talent. I have listened to all his books so far this being #13. Can't recommend this series enough. I even have my husband hooked. George Kuch once again does an outstanding job of narrating this book.

Still another hit in this series

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love willie he's such an amazing character and then of course, Ox.

Any additional comments?

I had a little trouble with the content of this book due to our real presidents response to the hate groups and recent happenings. Because of this, it took longer to listen to this book. I love how Walt can always expect unexpected help from Willie. Now that's the kind of guy you should count yourself lucky to call friend. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

I LOVED IT!!!

This is such a fun series!!! The book is a standalone listen that has both mystery and humor. I love the writing style of Robert Thornhill and the performance of George Kuch. This book is full of some endearing characters and has a great moral. I so enjoy the fact that Kansas City is showcased in this series. I love how the details are consistent in the books and the narrator is able to perform the various characters with distinguishable voices. This book has some minor references to previous books that bring to mind great laughs. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was given a copy of this book and have chosen to write my review. I cannot recommend this book enough. As one might expect, there seem to be multiple stories going on in this book, yet are tied together. I can't wait to hear the next adventure of Walt, Moose, Maggie and the others.

fast-paced thriller

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, so many twists and turns held your attention throughout.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the son asked his dad to take him home just before the dad was to shoot the president. It was a pivotal point in the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it held me enthralled and I didn't want to stop listening.

George Kuch was good again!

Another fantastic story!

You would think that this book was written now in 2017 (actually written in 2013), because the subject matter is SO relevant to our current state of affairs. Two radical groups from opposite political sides suddenly realize that they have a lot more in common than they think.. they both want the President gone. However, what makes this story pull your emotions all over is when they hire an assassin who you really feel for. Henry, a middle class family man who falls on hard times & is about to lose his home is offered an astronomical amount of money to do the deed. Robert Thornhill does an incredible job of making you feel all the emotions at once. Will Henry go through with it? Will the radical groups prevail?

While that's the main story line, there are actually many sub plots going on as well. We get to see a lot of the gang, and the Walt goes under cover as a TV executive at a dog competition & as a homeless person trying to bust a gang. In usual George Kuch fashion he narrates this all with an ease that draws you in and keeps you hooked. This is another slam dunk in the series!

Great Fun Series

I found a fun series to listen to when I need a break from horror it is the Lady Justice series. I love the characters of Walt, Ox, Maggie, Judy, Mary and his extended family and friends. The books cover thought provoking subjects (pros and cons) with humor. This book is about potential assassinations, desperation, hatred, bigotry and dogs and the narration is great as always as it is better to listen than read. I hate when they end.
