Publisher's summary

When a body is found floating in London's Royal Albert Dock, successful public relations expert Kay Christie is sent to quiet the media, but things get complicated when it emerges that she knew the victim.

As events spiral out of control, Kay discovers that those close to her may be harbouring another secret - the story of a missing girl. Can Kay discover the truth before her life unravels and she risks losing everything?

In the Wake questions whether we can ever truly leave our pasts behind and explores the lengths that we will go to protect the people that we love.

In the Wake

was a bit slow in the beginning and seemed the author lost the story, getting too involved with passion, but soon found it and the ending was excellent. The narration was very good.

Great Story line

The only reason this gets 3 stars is because I am forced to buy next book.. Bad strategy. If you aggravate you readers . . . .

Wow. What a pleasant surprise !!!

All I knew going in was : “Crime / Suspense / Set in London” That was good enough for me. Imagine my shock and surprise at finding myself gasping and exclaiming out loud in response to developments and listening in one go. Yes It’s been ages since I needed to know what happens next so badly that I only pushed pause to run into the shops or switch devices. Looking forward to the next effort from this author !

Kept waiting for the story to start… I gave up

Boring. The plot never took off and I gave up waiting for it. Not worth the time. Narrator was good though!

Snapping Tale

The whole thing begins with a snap and we are off trying to ring our way through London ' s high powered low lives. Good fun.

There was a murder...

But six hours into the book I have no idea who is doing a proper investigation. A woman runs centerstage who owns a PR company. Why she is losing her business, what her love life (marital and post-maritally lesbian) has to do with it or scenes from her teenage years , I have no idea. Thanks, Audible, for the free listen, but NO Thanks !

Kind of boring

This story was full of useless information that brought little to the whole. All of the relationships seemed superficial with few details that gave any of them life. The end was ok but as with most of the book felt unfinished.

waste of time

this book should come with a lesbian label instead of women's fiction. I try to finish books I start, but my time is too valuable to bother with this one. suspense is absent. it's a complete waste of time.
