Publisher's summary

A gunman is at large, stalking the halls of a local hospital. No one knows who he is or why he is there, and the best men in the force have been tasked to stop him.

Among them is Aden, determined to do the right thing. For hospital psychologist Imogen, weighed down by troubles of her own, the presence of the gunman seems to have little to do with her, but she couldn’t be more wrong....

"Dark, tense and convincing, this is a brilliantly executed and engrossing thriller. An extremely assured debut." ( Sunday Mirror)

One of my favourite reads this year so far

What a great read - couldn't tear myself away.
The book tells the events leading up to a mass shooting at a local hospital through the eyes of various different characters involved in the incident. I loved Kavanagh's characterisations - her protagonists were real and believable as their motives and interpersonal relationships unfolded. I felt I could have kept reading to see how some of them fared and was sad when it ended.
I listened to the audio version of this book and despite the jumping timeline and the different POV's had no trouble following the story.
One of my favourites this year so far - will have to read more from this author.
