Eve Dallas tracks a couple whose passion is fueled by cold brutality in this crime thriller from the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of Obsession in Death and Festive in Death.

When Lieutenant Eve Dallas examines a body in a downtown Manhattan alleyway, the victim's injuries are so extensive that she almost misses the clue. Carved into the skin is the shape of a heart - and initials inside reading E and D.…

Ella-Loo and her boyfriend, Darryl, had been separated while Darryl was a guest of the state of Oklahoma, and now that his sentence has been served they don't ever intend to part again. Ella-Loo's got dreams. And Darryl believes there are better ways to achieve your dreams than working for them. So they hit the road, and when their car breaks down in Arkansas, they make plans to take someone else's. Then things get messy and they wind up killing someone - an experience that stokes a fierce, wild desire in Ella-Loo. A desire for Darryl. And a desire to kill again.

As they cross state lines on their way to New York to find the life they think they deserve, they will leave a trail of evil behind them. Wonderful :)

Any additional comments?

I've been looking forward to the latest In Death novel & it was no disappointment!
I love hearing Eve's twists, misuse & quandaries about idioms and sayings.
I really enjoy how the character's personalities have evolved & it was good to have Rourke be the one to get irate over uninvited guests for a change.

This book does not disappoint fans of the JD Robb,In Death Series!!

I became hooked on JD Robb's, In Death series about two years ago and I have listened to every single one of her books and I recently started downloading some of my very favorite books of hers in an unabridged version
because I have discovered that you miss so much by settling for the abridged versions of her books...which is what my local library, tended to have available. There is just no comparison between the full story and half of the story and I'm probably going to end up listening to each and everyone of them in chronological order, all over again!!
I feel like after two years of listening to every single one of her books, that I know so many of the reoccurring characters in the In Death Series, quite personally and I really like them a lot ,quirks and all .....and some times, it feels like " l'm part of the gang",at Cop Central ! It seems like I'm always on the road, heading to visit all the different cities that my grown children and their families live in and that's why I listen to almost everything ,as opposed to reading her books but I have found it to be quiet enjoyable.I love downloading books to my iPhone, off of audible.com and I can just put my Bose headphones on and put my phone in my pocket and work around my house or in my yard, all day long listening to her wonderful and exciting crime stories!! Keep em' coming,J D Robb/aka Nora Roberts...I love your books and always feel a little sad, when one comes to a conclusion!!

the course of true love

Ella-Loo and Darryl drive from Texas to New York bringing along a trail of crime and 24 bodies to their new playground.
Eve gives Feeney his magic coat.
Trueheart takes his Detective exam.
Absurdisms: Colder than a b*tch*s tit (witch); oxygons (oxymorons); time zones.
Ericksen does a good job of narration.

Simply Perfect

Once again J.D./Nora has produced the best of the best by continuing the saga of Eve, Roarke and the rest. The storyline is exciting, the love affair between our heroine and hero sizzling and deep, the dialogue natural. I laughed, I cried, and I can't wait for the next book in this series. I must also mention the superb narration. Susan Ericksen is the absolute best at creating strong, identifiable characters from book to book to book. Thank you all for this book.
