Publisher's Summary

When Cora is savagely murdered with a hatchet, the extraordinary remark she made the previous day at her brother Richard's funeral suddenly takes on a chilling significance.

At the reading of Richard's will, Cora was clearly heard to say: "It's been hushed up very nicely, hasn't it...But he was murdered, wasn't he?"

In desperation, the family solicitor turns to Hercule Poirot to unravel the mystery.

Nice twist

It's amazing how, after writing so many detective stories, Christie still manages to surprise the reader/listerner with an unexpected solution to the mystery. Impeccable reading by Hugh Fraser as usual.

After the funeral

As usual an excellent Agatha Christi. I enjoyed it so much that I kept repeating the last 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, as I didn't want to get to the ending! I extended the time to read the conclusion by using sleep timer so I didn't miss the final ending.

A classic mystery

What did you like best about After the Funeral? What did you like least?

I liked the twist and turns of the story. At first you think it could be one person, then you doubt yourself and think it must be another. I did not like the narration. I thought it wasn't the best. I also thought, dispute an interesting plot, it wasn't one of Agatha Christie 's better novels.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I really didn't enjoy the narration. I felt that many of the character's sounded the same.

Did After the Funeral inspire you to do anything?

Not really.
