Mitzner has a Gift for writing good Attorney books

Very good... I want to read all of Mizners books... emotion, drama, legal issues and real life... he covers it all in good detail.

A captivating story

A story with lots of twists and turns capped by an excellent courtroom drama. The comments about trial tactics were excellent. Good performance.

What did you love best about A Case of Redemption?

All the twists and turns of the storyline. Something is always happening.

What other book might you compare A Case of Redemption to and why?

Anything by Mark Greane. Both of these authors write in a way that makes you anxious to get to the next page. It's like you can't read fast enough to learn whats going to happen next. They deal with totally different subject matters, but the style is intense and electrifying and if you were reading the book instead of listening to he story, you would call in sick the next only to finish the story!

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to give away any of the story, but for me the last seen with Nina is my favorite only because it's the final "out of left field" twist to the story. In a way it's the cool-down for a hard run.

Good story

What did you like best about this story?

The plot has lots of twists and turns and that makes it exciting. It's a little permissive with inappropriate language, but not intolerable. It is definitely worth listening to and worth paying for.

What about Kevin T. Collins’s performance did you like?

Excellent performance, I will look to listen to something he performs in again.

The story held my attention and the narrator did a nice job. Not epic, but worth my time.

I Don't Agree With the Reviews

I just finished listening to A Case of Redemption and rushed to the computer to write this review. No synopsis here - just my feelings about the book.

I did not enjoy this book and I would never recommend this book to a friend. I actually almost gave it 2 stars. I had read many positive reviews so I went in with high expectations. I keep wondering if I listened to the same book everyone else did. I get that books are a very personal matter. I wish I could explain more clearly (without giving anything away) why I felt I wasted my time.

I wanted to quit the book many times but hung in there because the last chapter was suppose to be so "shocking" - yet I found nothing shocking about it. This is coming from someone who rarely can figure out an ending.

This was not a page turner. I wasn't filled with suspense. I didn't find the characters likeable. The judge was so over the top - I almost fast forwarded through some of the court scenes.

I will stay clear of Collins as a narrator. His voice was forced, irritating and he over enunciated. Although, I think he did switch between characters well and had no issues with how he did female voices.

If you want to read a good crime/court room or suspense novel - stick with the likes of Grisham,Turow, Wm Landay or M. Connelly.

Good Story, Well Performed

My second novel by Mitzner and happy to report both were well done. Collins delivered the story with just the right amount of inflections to add to the shock and awe scenes and yet keep the story believable and dramatic. I've listened to some very average novels lately and this one was a nice upgrade. Five stars don't come easy from me, but I think Mitzner deserves the award...hope you agree. Cheers

Wow! I didn't see it coming! What a great story!

Don't be fooled by the early chapters of this novel; it is NOT what it seems. It is much better than what it seems! This is the story of an attorney who has lost everything in his life and how one case redeems him and starts his life anew. His court room activities are central and his relationships with other lawyers likewise. However, the story has some devious twists and turns that the listener can't possibly see coming. . . yet in the end, they are quite logical and believable.

The narration leaves a little something to be desired. . . Collins' voice is a bit pretentious and seems affected at times, but get beyond that because the story is a great one.

More than just a legal thriller

Mitzner sets the emotional bar high at the start of this story. Daniel has lost his wife and daughter in a drunk driving accident while he's too busy working to join them on vacation. The Daniel we meet as the story opens is a former lawyer, a drunk. It's amazing he even makes it to the party where he meets NIna. But meet Nina he does, and she sets him on a whole new path.

The issues in the story are real (violence in gangsta rap is just the start of it), and yet the love story piece feels somewhat old-fashioned. The love story is probably the weakest part of the story, but the overall plot and Kevin's Collin's remarkable narration make up for a lot.

Great summer listen.
