Publisher's summary

Success becomes dangerously seductive for this Wall Street broker in a dizzying thriller by the author of the Amazon Charts best-seller Dead Certain.

Will Matthews came to Wall Street with hopes and dreams of hitting it big. But things have not been going as expected. He’s on the verge of being fired when he meets the devilishly mysterious and fabulously wealthy Sam Abaddon.

Winning Sam’s business answers Will’s prayers, catapulting the young stockbroker into the privileged world of money and luxury. Not only that, but Will also has met his dream girl, ambitious attorney Gwen Lipton.

All at once, it seems as if Will’s life couldn’t get any better.

And it doesn’t.

When Will witnesses a shocking act of violence, his charmed new existence is revealed to be a waking nightmare as the truth about his benefactor - and his own complicity in criminal conduct - becomes devastatingly clear. As the noose draws tighter, Will faces an impossible choice: feast upon the poisonous fruit of his bloody business or defy his patron and face dire consequences.

Then again, maybe there’s a third option....

If it walks like a duck...

I've never listened to anything written by Adam Mitzner before but when I saw this book was narrated by Will Damron I had to get it. I'm happy to say that both the narrating abilities of Damron and the great story by Adam Mitzner were well worth my time! If you have kindle unlimited this book is FREE to borrow with the kindle edition.

This story has two protagonists. Gwen Lipton and Will Matthews. Both face some very moral and ethical situations (including murders and money laundering) pertaining to their jobs. Both believing what they're told rather than trusting their gut feelings. Unfortunately doing "the right thing " could put them in danger. There is some predictability along the way but this is such a good, entertaining story it really doesn't make a difference.
Again the narration by
Will Damron probably boosts this book's overall appeal.

Best Adam Mitzner audio book, by far.

Six of seven Adam Mitzner novels are in my Audible library and I have written reviews of each. Some like A Conflict of Interest are simply horrid novels that should never have been published. A Case of Redemption is an excellent novel with awful narration. Losing Faith is a pretty good novel with OK narration. For the first time with a Mitzner audio book A MATTER OF WILL is an outstanding novel with equally outstanding narration. I hope that Mitzner can keep up that good work and that Audible will continue using Will Damron to narrate his novels. Highly recommended!

Mixed Feelings...

I enjoyed this, over-all, but thought, based on other's reviews, that this would be a Great...Best Story Ever. Nope, just good. Story was just so far fetched, but well written. Ending was just meh. Reminded me of "The Devil's Advocate ".
I wouldn't have bothered to review this, however there were so many stellar reviews... and I really don't see why the 5 stars...so, wanted to inject a more objective review...IMO.

Wacky story line!

I finished, but only because I have enjoyed Mitzner's previous work. The writing and performance are both good, but the story stretches too far from the credible. Having read 5 of Mitzner's books, and given the previous 4 four star reviews, I was disappointed in this one.

Unbelievable!

This novel may be a mystery wrapped up in a romance novel. Or perhaps vice versa. Will the protagonist can’t be as stupid as he seems to be to the reader, although not to his assorted Colleagues. He continues to be unable to see what is happening to him despite the fact that he is cast as a highfalutin money manager. Likewise his girlfriend, Gwen, is equally as naïve despite the fact that she is a lawyer I read the whole thing but I kept looking at the wall and saying, “Oh c’mon!” Actually I didn’t read this I listened to it and the narrator was terrific - which might be the reason I continued to listen.

A metter of willpower to finish the book

Reviewing this book is difficult. It was so stupid, suspenseful, and obvious that there is nothing good I can say about the story.

I read this book as a combination audio and kindle book. The narrator was pretty effective however, not so effective that he could make the book sound suspenseful or interesting.

Without giving anything away, even a middle school kid would be able to figure out what was happening in the first couple of pages. I have to believe this because the alternative would mean that the people we entrust our life savings too are really dumber than a rock.

It took everything in me to finish this book - - it was that bad.

My advice, skip it.

Greed : A Wall Street Seduction Story

This is an entertaining story, even tho it's about the age old, tried and true Wall Street seduction using money. The old saying that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is," really applies to this story. But sit back, relax and suspend disbelief because you'll probably enjoy this entertaining story. We have had many stories and movies in the past such as "The Firm" so we kinda know what some of the twists and turns may be. However, there is a couple of surprising twists that I didn't see coming.

Great narration by Will Damron... Recommend

Generic story super predictable from the start

If you like generic stories that ate equal parts cheesy and predictable then by all means go for it. I feel like I wasted my money on this but oh well live and learn.

Keeps You On Edge of your Seat

This book captured my attention. Lots of mystery & unexpected plot twists. There is a great moral to the story. Several, actually, but not preached, just character epiphanies on life & circumstances. Cause & effect. What's important, what's worth fighting for, that idea.
Narration is perfect for subject matter; thoughtful & precise.
I found very little objectionable, almost no bad language ( I hate it when authors have very little for their characters to say, so they use bad language to cover worse writing & character development). If there was a steamy sex scene, I missed it. Though there is a scene where the main character struggles with temptation mixed with abject fear. Overall, a well written, imaginative book I would highly recommend.

Another Triumph

I have read or listened to every book Adam Mitzner has written. I have enjoyed every one more than the last and cannot wait for the next one. Adam is the master of the last minute unexpected plot twist and he definitely delivered in A Matter of Will. It was a great read (listen in fact) and I highly recommend it.

Of great interest. Intelligent tale with a background of love and terror. Beware of big money!
