Publisher's Summary

When a leather parchment of Montezuma’s map is found in great-grandfather Evans’ old chest, April and the twins know this summer is going to be a memorable one. The girls want to search for it but their father is against it for some mysterious reason. With Julia’s help, she and the girls convince John to go on a treasure hunt. Another Great Installment in the Series!

As I have stated in my reviews of previous books in this series, I am an an avid reader but also almost exclusively audiobooks due to my schedule. Because of this, I can be critical of narrators and am a true believer that a narrator can make or break an audiobook. Especially when books have a single narrator required to speak with different voices for multiple characters. Most cannot do it without having some errors where they use the wrong 'voice' for the wrong character. While I still prefer books narrated with multiple narrators, narrator Carolyn Kashner continues to do a great job in this series. I didn't have any problem listening to this book and was glad I didn't because, once again, the story kept me entertained throughout.

I am not a fan of including spoilers in my reviews, but John and Julia are a fun couple with three adult daughters. Book 3 focuses on a 'lost treasure' that Julia & John's kids find in their attic, so the family makes a camping trip out of it, and as in previous books, stumble into more than they planned. The story kept me entertained and I enjoyed seeing the storyline on their children develop more, instead of it being primarily John & Julia as it has in past books. If you are looking for heavy sex and over the top language, this book and series isn't for you. However, if you are looking for a good clean family friendly story that will hold your interest and make you laugh at times, I highly recommend this book and what I have read (or listened to) in the series so far, which are books 1 - 3. I am excited to start listening to book 4 next.

I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Exciting and suspenseful!

This is another riveting adventure with John and Julia Evans! I can't get enough of these stories, not only for the mystery, but the history and family that it centers around. This one does have John and Julia in it, but it centers more on their children as they get involved in the artifact findings. The story revolves around finding the treasure of Montezuma, and the search is full of intrigue and danger. Is it guarded? Does anyone else know about the map that will lead them to it? And if they do, will they all come out alive? Yes, this is exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You don't know who to trust. But this is not what kept my interest. I loved the story of Cristina and Joshua's history. What a beautiful story comes out as we get a glimpse into the Evans family. It's beautiful, happy, sad and just full of love. We also get to see more of Matthew and April, and spend some time with the twins who are full of spunk! And the final surprise of Julia and John's heritage is sure to make you smile! It's hard to believe how life works, how small the world is and how family is so important! It's a great addition to this series!

Carolyn Kashner continues her narration, bringing it all to life. There are a lot of characters and circumstances, and she delves into each one, their own voice and personality. I found it completely entertaining and look forward to the next adventure.

Interesting Read!

I enjoyed this book very much! I really like the way Linda Weaver Clark develops her characters and the delightful interaction between them!

This story has plenty of action and suspense that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. And watch out! As soon as you think something is resolved, there is a twist for a little more... much to Father John's frustration!

Carolyn Kashner, as a narrator, did a great job keeping vocals for each character separate. You can hear the emotions involved with each character clearly. She keeps the whole story running smoothly.

A good mystery

I have listened to a couple of books by Linda Weaver Clark and I think this one has now jumped in to the top spot. The narrator Carolyn Kashner did a good job with all the voices which enhanced my enjoyment of this book and brought the story to life for me.

This was a a story filled with suspense, danger, secrets and lies. It was also full of interesting history and romance which I found captivating. It was obvious as I listened that the author is well versed in the history and geography where this book is based.

The intrigue and mystery, not to mention the danger kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story. The writing was so descriptive that I found myself imagining myself along for the ride with John, Julia and their family looking for Montezuma’s treasure.

I like the John and Julia Evans, although this story is more centered around their children. There were many twists, turns and surprises in as Julia, John and the family follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions.

Montezuma Intrigue

The Evans’ girls find an old trunk containing a treasure map belonging to their great-grandfather. The girls decided that they wanted to find the treasure. Their dad, John, had told them that no one else should not find out about the map. The discovery of the map somehow ends up in the newspaper and unfortunately a guy who has a grudge with Julia.

Nick is hired by Devlin to get the map from the girls so he decides to get close to one of the girls but he finds himself falling for her. He does end up finding out where they are going camping and follows them.
Follow the Evans’ family as they go on another adventure with twists, mishaps and humor!

MY THOUGHTS:
I also read books 1 & 2 and to me this book has a lot more romance in it, which to me gave it a different feel. While this book has lots of passion in it, it's a nice clean book. This book also focuses on the Evans’ girls more than John & Julia.

The author gave me a free copy of this book on Audible in exchange for an honest review.

lots of adventure

This series has been full of intrigue, adventure, suspence and romance. This book was great. Lots of mysterious happenings and interesting action. I love how the author writes about an area where she lives near, in Southern Utah. I can also identify with this area, as I live in Utah as well.

I love exploring the petroglyph areas and historical areas of Utah and so this book was captivating to me. I loved the camping, the adventure and everything. It was a great book to add to the series and because it was an Audible version, I could take it with me whereever I went.

The narrator Caroline Kashner is very talented making the Audible version very interesting and easily identified when a different character was speaking. Great read, clean, enjoyable and very entertaining.

I received an Audible copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own.

Great Narration & Story

Montezuma Intrigue that once again comes alive with narration by Carolyn Kashner and with the intrigue and adventure from the author, .This has John and Julia as well as their children. An old man chanting as a prayer and was gone. A backpack was all he had would someone claim it and know who the man was. The adventure within a cave, was very real. A great series and the narration was great. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
