A Good One!
I didn't want the story to end. I laughed, cheered and just plain couldn't stop listening. This is a wonderful story set in the bayous of Louisiana. The charm of the plain folks, and the Boston attorney who, was accepted and coerced by everyone to remain there won me over swiftly.
The story was riveting and you couldn't help cheering for the good guys to win. Michelle and Theo are very likable as a couple and you can't help but think they were intended for each other.
Give this one a try you will enjoy it as I did.
About the narrator, she did a fantastic job. It is very hard to emulate a southern, cajun accent. I grew up in New Orleans and trust me when I say it is hard to speak the way they do unless you are born there. So my hat is off to you MS.Taister you did a credible job switching between a Bostonian accent to a Cajun dialect, even throwing in a twang of Mississipian.

Story good.
I enjoyed the story. But the reader was overly enthusiastic with her dialect. I had trouble understanding the words when locals from the area spoke, especially the father. The words were extremely louder than everyone else, plus they were slurred together as to make it gibberish.
The book would have been more enjoyable with a different reader.

Good Story and Narrator!
Any additional comments?
The narrator was easy to listen to and the story kept you moving along waiting to see what happened next. Had a few twists that I wasn't expecting. All in all, if you are a fan of the author or you haven't read her books before I definitely recommend this one!

Mercy Me
If you could sum up Mercy in three words, what would they be?
Hot, arrogant, hot!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Theo... all the Buchanan men are so hot, my poor husband is envious of the fictitious men.
What about Christina Traister’s performance did you like?
This is the second narration I have listen to, the first one was so bad it didn't even deserve one star, however she did a good job with this one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Theo buys the fence for that sweet little boy.
Any additional comments?
This is one of the best books. Was afraid the narration was ruin it but she did a good job.

Garwood's best
I have read everything that Garwood has written, but she typically has a few problems with her books - usually the quality of writing. This is the best work she has ever done. (In fact, I am a little surprised with how well it is written - new editor?) Her characters are usually well developed and interesting; she usually has adequate plots; and, she often weaves in subtle humor. She does all of these very well in this book. Her solid writing, along with an excellent reader (one of the best I have heard)pushes this book over the top - very well done. Can Garwood do it again? Let's hope.

Couldn't stop listening + GREAT story.
What made the experience of listening to Mercy the most enjoyable?
The performance was fantastic. I loved the voices and accents. EXCEPTIONAL read.
What did you like best about this story?
I always like intelligent yet quirky heroes and heroines. I especially like when they have a back story. These two were fun to fall in love with. And fun to hope there will be more about both families in future books.
What does Christina Traister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her accents of the deep south were unreal good. I loved listening. I even had my husband listen to it a little just so I could show him how much I liked it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for more Garwood and more Traister.

Great story!!!! Awesome narrator!!!
I have to say this is one of my favorite books to listen to. The story line was totally unexpected and the narrator did a great job with the accents. You could definitely tell the difference in the characters. I have listened to 3 times already. I would recommend getting this one.

Loved It--Can't wait to Listen Again
The characters were built up so well. The narration was wonderful, loved CT's northeast accent as well as the Louisiana accent. A complete surprise on one of the "villians" at the end (don't want to spoil it for those trying to decide). Most definitely worth the credit.

love the book, hate the narrator
I love Julie Garwood and her books. I have them in print. I was hoping to listen to them through audible during drives or just when I'm cleaning but the narrator was getting on my nerves when she was trying to do an accent. the words became slurs and the.accent just wasn't my cup of tea. I hope to return this and get my money back.
