Wonderful

I have read the book before. This narrator is new to me and does a wonderful job.

Hot hot hot

I am enjoying this series. This one had more of a storyline to it and some bad guys to defeat. The spankings are very similar but they are very hot! Great narration from JT.

Darby and Jean-Michel

This book was so good, thoroughly enjoyable. It was nice that some of the women and men from book 1 were in this book. Darby gave Jean-Michel a run for his money. She was mated before to an @sshole who was not her true mate and he abused her. Jean-Michel punishes her but not abuse. He really punishes her when she tries to get away from him. At first I did not care for him, but he turned out to be a great mate. I love how Jean-Michel handled Darby’s kidnapping by her old mate. For his mate, nothing was too much to get her back. I am looking forward to the next book in the series Mastering His Mate. JT Farrell did an awesome job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This audiobook was phenomenal! JT Farrell gets every accent spot on, his characters are layered and intense. He really brings the story to life!
Delta James knows how to spin a tale that pulls you in and keeps you in your seat. The Wayward Maters series builds with every book until you are stalking her for the next release date. I’m a super fan!

Discipline and Patience

Delta James has written an awesome story of discipline, patience, intrigue, danger, strong spirited females, and strong willed alpha men who will disciple, fiercely love and die protecting their fated mates. Darby was cruelly treated by her former mate, so she has no desire to be mated again. Jean-Michel realizes that Darby is his true mate so he has his work cut out for him. He has to make her realize that there is a difference between discipline and abuse and that he he'll sexually fulfill all of her desires. I love how he is so patient with her and even smiles at her antics. Others of her disbanded pack will also be a great challenge to their fated mates. Their actions and thoughts had me smiling at times. JT Farrell does an excellent job of conveying the emotions and personalities of these characters to the listener. I enjoy listening to him. I highly recommend this Audible book to people that enjoy this kind of shifter book.

Alpha!

This is the second book in the Wayward Mates Series, a paranormal romance. This is a series of intertwined characters. Darby and Jean-Michel's story is hot and fun. Darby is strong, and determined. Jean-Michel is an alpha, dominant, and protective. Their chemistry is like fire. The storyline has a little suspense. JT Farrel did a good job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession

Copied and pasted

Most of the book was an exact rehash of the previous books. The first chapter retold the first book exactly. I thought it was just bringing you up to date. But it kept going on and on verbatim. Only the last few chapters moved the story along.

Better than the first

Ok.. So this book was technically better than the last but I still didn't love it. I did NOT like our "hero". I think this story could have been so much more if he would have acted a little bit different. I think the dominance was borderline abuse. I like dominance in my shifter books but this was too much and she didn't help because she just gave into everything.. Just not what I like to read.

I will read the next book because I have the audiobook but I really need a good one!

Narration was again good! No complaints here.

Alpha Daddy, spanking and discipline

Listened to audio narrated by J.T. Farrell. I thought he did a nice job with the accents and breathing life into the various characters. Although I wish there was a bit more variation with the female voices.

Jean-Michel Gautier is the leader of his pack, he knows he has a tough road with Darby given her history but he is determined to give her the guidance and discipline his mate needs.

Darby Callan was traded to an abusive alpha, who forced a mating on her. She vows never to be knotted and mated again. She joined a pack of women all determined to escape from forced matings and beatings.

This book is all about alpha Daddies taking their fated mates in hand with domestic discipline. After Jean-Michel's pack hunts down the wayward pack of female shifters he realizes Darby is his Fated Mate. He knows she's been abused but sees his own form of discipline as something she needs to be happy and content, not abuse. When Jean-Michel's mate disrespects him or behaves badly she faces time in the corner, a mouth filled with soap, as well as many, many spankings.

This was a battle of wills as Jean-Michel must get past Darby's walls of fear. She is determined not to be abused and taken unwillingly again. When punishment turns to wild passionate nights she knows he's her fated mate, whether she likes it or not.

This genre isn't for everyone but for those that do, I think you'll enjoy their Daddy and little girl time and skirting and going over lines of consent.

This was an okay read for me, I struggled with the fact that they are clearly in the 21st century but it kept feeling like it was more historic. I would have also liked more time to feel their emotional connection. They had a lot of passion in the bedroom after her punishments but I didn't always feel their connection outside of it.
