Grad student and cocktail waitress Evelyn Merkholtz has plenty to deal with. Too much to deal with, actually. So when her runaway best friend calls with a mysterious and urgent request to join her in Scotland, she is secretly more than happy to drop everything and oblige. When she gets there, Evelyn discovers that she is faced with an ancient curse, an adorably hunky villager, and a super hot (but possibly murderous) Highland warrior from the 18th century - and realizes that getting burned at the stake is a really bad way to get out of writing her thesis.

Evelyn gets a phone call from her best friend asking her to drop everything and fly to Scotland to help her figure out how to send a man back to his time. The TIME TRAVEL was backwards d where the man was taken from his time to ours, but he spent ALL of the book in the tower. That right there I feel AD missed a great opportunity with him dealing with this time. In the middle of the book, Evelyn finds herself trapped in the past.
Overall this was pleasant read. listening to the book they have the Scottish accent which is the reason I like audiobooks it seems like they're on stage acting instead of just reading the book to you and one normal tone voice.

Yes, it's a time travel novel, but to the future, not the past. All the answers are in the book, and then a few more.
Riveting tale, can't wait to see what happens next

The story line was ok...the beginning hooked me because no one would come out with what the big issue was! What the problem was that Evelyn had to drop her job and graduate school at a moments notice when her BFF from childhood calls and says must come help her. If for nothing else I wanted to know what the problem was... A little bit of a let down after that was reveled and it took a little effort on my part to keep moving along. I wound up reading (listening) to it pretty much straight through. It was ok but I didn't fall in love with anyone o was rooting for anyone to overcome all odds and be able to be together. I was fine either way and that is not a good thing when reading a romance. You want love the love to live the couple! Cheer them on... But alas I was like just get on with it. Nora ING heart no tears no elation no let down.. It was what it was.
With all that said I o er all enjoyed the book but looking back I think I kept reading hoping for more. I didn't get what o wanted but I got enough over all.
Lost Highlander... Kinda blah..but readable.

You'll want more of this time travel adventure. What's not to like, hunky highlanders in the past and present, a witch, a war & a baby.
Had to have more

One reviewer said "TOO QUICK PROGRESSION TO SEX." I'm at 55% and there has not even been a kiss, no thoughts of sex, no desire, no wanting from either of them, no sexual tension. If there's sex in this book it's gotta be near the end and that makes it's gratuitous sex and that's the worse kind there is, no sex, no nothing then WHAM there it is.. AND the reviewer said "Maybe both of those questions will be answered in the follow up." Umm, NO.I should have paid attention. This is a cliffhanger and I absolutely hate when an author tries to force me to read book after book to finally get to a solution. I'm glad I found out before I read the whole book. I'm done. Sorry..
I gave it 3 stars because I'm not finishing it.
As to the narrator: Ms. Dawe just keeps getting better and better. For as much as I listened to she did a great job.
Nope..

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
No, probably not. Story is good perhaps a bit adolescent -but the narration is terrible - had to slow it down just to follow the storyHow did the narrator detract from the book?
Talked to fast and talked in a whineNarration way to fast
