His salvation rests in exorcising the demons of her past.

Felix Cross is no stranger to demons. He's traveled the globe, studying under the world's most foremost demonologists and exorcists with one goal: Open a door to Hell to retrieve the soul of an innocent man.

After he's hired to perform an exorcism on Raina Hemlock, a Kentucky senator's daughter, Felix may have found what he needs. The possessed girl claims to have been to Hell and back...literally. Now all he has to do is interrogate the demon before it destroys the girl he was hired to save.

Yet not all is as it seems in the Hemlock household. A dark presence hovers over the house, one with a fondness for violence and blood.

Is Raina's possession the true evil in the Hemlock house? Or is something even more sinister lurking in the mansion's forbidden rooms?

I stumbled across Felix Cross in the Audible Plus catalog and thought this sounds a bit like the TV show Evil. I mean you have an almost man of the cloth, who tackles demons, performs exorcisms (not the Catholic Church exactly), and is slightly less snarky than Sandman Slim, but more than a Harry Dresden snark. I enjoyed the story and the narrator - the latter who emulates both male and female voices well. Looking forward to book 2!

Great read and captivating story

Great performance from the narrator, first of all. This is an enjoyable listen that held my attention from start to finish. The details were graphic and terrifying, but in a tasteful way. The main character, Felix, was fun to follow, his inner dialogue managing to get a laugh without ruining the tone or pace of the narrative.
Copen has proven her writing skills and abilities to dive into different genres successfully yet again. Copen's horror and urban fantasy titles are worth the read!

I wish they warn me about the gay part of the story. I have no problem with gay people but I not into those type of story.
