Publisher's summary

Step right up, enjoy the show, and pay no attention to the eyes watching from the darkness.

The carnival is back in town, and for Jack Heldon, that's not a good sign. Since the last time it had come to the small and quiet town in Lensfield, Connecticut, he’s been plagued with nightmares of burning walls, raspy chuckles, and fiery red eyes in the dark. Ted Barton’s killing spree is still fresh in his mind, and Jack knows the carnival was behind it all.

Now, it’s back for more.

But the people of Lensfield are none the wiser. As they are drawn into the lights and music of Ebenezer’s Carnival, evil begins to feed again. Jack and his friends are forced to come face-to-face with the horrors of their past and the evil that tore them apart. While trying to break the carnival’s hold, they quickly realize that debts must be paid and promises cannot be ignored. Because there’s no escaping the clutches of Ebenezer's Carnival and the screams within.

Who doesn’t love a creepy carnival?

Great story. 10 years ago the carnival came to town and it seems to have brought evil with it, now 10 years later it returns and the kids who where there want answers! What does your heart desire? Ebenezer can help you get it, but of course nothing comes free!

The story had a little bit of an ‘It’ (Stephen King’s book) feel to it with the kids coming back together years after a shared traumatic experience. Great story though, creepy with a bit of mystery! I’m looking forward to the next book.

I never thought of a carnival is sinister before.

People like to think of the carnival as a happy musical fun place, but have we ever thought about the more sinister aspects of it? I hadn’t until now.

Great AI Nasser Storytelling

I enjoy the bizzare situations the characters find themselves in within a book by AI Nasser. Horror, gore, love and insanity! I must admit it is not the type of storyline to listen to while working on a project. You need to listen with your headphones when no one can bother you to really get all the twists and turns, they happen quickly and you can catch yourself rewinding quite a bit if you don't! These stories never end anything like you think they will. The narrator was a bit hard to follow due to accent and the way he tries to change his voice. Not very good at women and even worse at children.

What a creepy story

What a creepy story. The voice of the narrator made it even creepier. I will never look at a carousel the same way after listening to this story. This was a good story about a carnival that visits a town every 10 years. Nobody seems to notice all the deaths that occur while the carnival is in town. I look forward to hearing the next book in the series.

Creepy Carnival.

10 years ago the carnival came to town and during that time things happened that were never linked to it but some of the kids remember. Now those kids are adults and the same carnival is back in town. Again, things are happening and Jack and his friends will have to face up to the fact that the carnival isn't what it seems.

I finished this about a month or so ago but forgot to review it!! Yet I still remember nearly everything about it which just goes to show what a great read it was. I've read a few books by this author and am never disappointed in what he writes. This story was extremely atmospheric and gave me chills. It will be hard to look at a carnival in the same light again, especially the merry go round!! The plot was fast paced and kept me hooked till the last page, and reminded me of works by big named horror authors.

All the characters were well written and developed. Some of their stories were heartbreaking, especially the mother!! It really resonated with me and cements the proverb,,,, be careful what you wish for! In all, this was a darkly delicious read and I really hope we get another installment too.

Jake Urry is a fantastic narrator. His voice is what makes him stand out and makes him memorable. He has plenty of tones and voices for all the characters and makes the villain stand out too. Love his narration and highly recommend you check out his work.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Watch What You Wish For

Read the book couple years ago and loved it but awaiting 2nd one. It was better to listen to it. It is about Carnival owned by evil Ebenezer Cage that returns to Lensfield, Connecticut to finish collecting souls of the bionic six which include Jack Heldon, Faith Stone, Danny Bufano, Michael Cooper and Philip Tucker (who did not come back) as well as Amanda. Jack and Danny must find the carousel to save Faith, but need next book after letter sent by Ebenezer. Recommend if you enjoy dark, creepy carnival stories.

Jake Urry Ruined It

Jake Urry has always been one of my favorite narrators. His voice amplifies the horror and mystery in the story. But lately every sentence he reads is slow with sinister vibes. It's great when you're into the horror parts. But he makes every conversation - no matter how ordinary - seem sinister and fear-ladden. He needs to practice his ordinary casual voice.
