Especially if she can catch the attention of the most eligible bachelor in town and her current crush. Even the kindest, most upstanding, perfect of men aren’t opposed to summer flings, right?

But when she meets the local police chief - all swagger and arrogance - and learns of her brother’s scandalous misdeed, she knows that Pelion is just another town where their stay is best...short-lived. Still, she and Travis strike up an unlikely friendship and Haven sees that the gorgeous lawman isn’t only easy on the eyes, but he has...layers. Not that she’s going to peel any of them. He’s only her friend. A friend willing to scratch her back, if she scratches his.

It seems simple enough. She’ll help him make her brother sweat a little. And he’ll help her win over Gage. But before either Travis or Haven knows it, simple turns complicated, friendship gets flipped on its ear, passion faces down perfection, and they both discover that sometimes you have to lose it all to find exactly what you need.

It was okay.

A typical love story. Slow and boring at times. Not a lot going on until the end. But I had to see if he got the girl.

Not my fav

Love a redemption arc but it just didn’t swallow my heart the way archers voice did. Plus the male narrator just didn’t hit the spot. It also bothered me that the name of the town was pronounced differently than the original book.

everything she writes is memorizing. I only wish it was longer. will always read whatever she comes out with

The beginning

was crazy! It's a real good story but the male narrator didn't seem to fit the character. He did great just not for that type of story.

Enjoyable

I liked it. It is nice to see how Travis develops. It wasn’t as dramatic as Archers Voice. It was low key and easy to read.

Worth a credit

The story really drew me in at the start and I loved also catching up with the characters from ‘Archer’s voice.’ I loved the chemistry between these two for most of the book. But I feel like it lost some steam at the end with some unnecessary drama. Overall I enjoyed the book though and would recommend. But just wish it took a bit of a different path at the end.

Sweet love story

I had to hang in there initially. Wasn't sure I would make it, but I'm really glad I did. It's a wonderful story.

Not like the first Book

The first book was dramatic and interesting full of passion felt realistic. Well, this one was cheesy seemed rush. Super unrealistic felt very flat to my expectations. 

The Hale Boys

Loved how simple yet effective this plot was. it wasn't meant to steal the thunder or steer away from what we read in Archer's Voice. It showed Travis's journey of healing and finding himself so beautifully, making sure he knew he also deserved happiness and to be loved. This redemption arc really showed the natural and lovable character that is Travis Hale.

Good, not great!

I've read all of Mia Sheridans books and pretty much love all of them. this wasn't my favorite but still a really good read. Was hoping for more depth from the characters. But loved the fact that the female lead had men after her and not the male lead for once. I'm tired of romances where the male lead is so incredibly hot and all the women in the world want him and blah blah. Can the woman be wanted for once? Appreciated that here.
