Publisher's summary

Surprising new family members. A hidden talisman. Deadly curses. Murder. Months after tragically losing a loved one, Kellan learns his relative’s death wasn’t an accident.

Someone has discovered a cursed talisman, and a rogue government agent will stop at nothing to retrieve the heirloom. Unfortunately, it has already changed hands and found its way on campus. Moments before Braxton’s controversial art exhibition opens, Kellan stumbles upon another murder victim, and it appears he might be next on the avenger’s list.

Can Kellan protect the talisman's true heir and prevent the killer’s nefarious plan? Given all the suspects have ties to prominent Braxton citizens, he’s uncertain whom to trust. Together, Kellan and Sheriff April are determined to solve the mystery - via legal means or blind luck.

Review of Legally Blind Luck, Audio edition

This story is by one of my favourite writers and I've already read the text version and I loved it but I was still happy to have the opportunity to listen as well to this version. The story was just as great as it was before. This was my first time listening to this narrator. He did an adequate job but he pronounced some names and words differently than I've been pronouncing them in my head and I found myself thinking, "Is that how -that word- is pronounced?" I also found myself wondering why everyone seemed to be southern, it was very confusing. Not that it's confusing for people to be southern in real life but most of the characters (save a few) seemed to have a Southern US accent but this story takes place in Pennsylvania and most of the characters are from Pennsylvania so I expected the characters to have either a pahk the cah in the Hahvahd Yahd Boston or a Fuggetaboutit NYC accent. Or at least not an Atlanta drawl. If anyone has seen the movie A Time to Kill with Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sandra Bullock, this narrator pronounces the name Roarke just the same as Sandra Bullock's character says everyone in the south pronounces her name, "RO-ark, not Roar-k. Connor's voice I thought was done well but I was disappointed with the other voices and I also found it difficult to tell who was talking at different points, only figuring it out through clues in the actual dialogue and so I would have preferred more differentiation in the voices, even between the males and females. However, that being said, I didn't hate this performance and I'd give another book by the same narrator a shot and give it a listen. I encourage other audiobook fans to give a listen to this one, too.
