Publisher's summary

It's Christmas time in Caerphilly, and the town is preparing for their live nativity. During rehearsals, Meg discovers a real baby in the manger, with a note attached that says the mother is leaving the baby girl there so that her father can take care of her, and the wording of the note implicates Meg's brother, Rob, as the father.

Rob protests that he can't possibly be the father, but the town's suspicion creates a rift between him and his new girlfriend. Rob asks Meg to investigate on his behalf‚ to clear his name and to find the real parents of the baby.

But every day that passes without answers is another day that spoils everyone's enjoyment of the holiday and drives the wedge between Rob and his girlfriend deeper. As Meg gets further into her investigation, she discovers the found baby is connected to something much bigger, a crime that will need to be stopped by Meg and her motley crew to save the holidays for everyone.

Thanks, I needed that!

I go to Donna Andrews for laughter, reassurance, joy, and Good, Clean (but not sanitized) Fun. So I basically moved to Caerphilly when my position was eliminated in May... and re-read the whole series beginning with "Peacocks" (Murder with) and finally reached "Hark!".

I've always loved the set-up, implementation and ultimate delivery to Clayville County but couldn't remember in which Christmas book it appeared (managed without a spoiler;)

Besides, I wanted to read them all again - and will continue forward to the newest release. 😊

Dome very cute and funny moments. Performed brilliantly. A good light read. For this genre it's a winner.

Another winner!

Christmas, women-sleuths, murder, theft, situational-humor, verbal-humor *****

I loved this one, too, but it's a little less stand alone than many of the others. The mystery and characters are as convoluted as can be, and while there are parts I'd love to share, spoilers are too disrespectful to the author. Enjoy!

A fun departure from the usual storyline

This story had more action/suspense vibes than murder mystery, which was a really fun change of pace.

Another wonderful installment

Donna Andrews has crafted another wonderful installment in the Meg Langston series. It is full of all the zany characters and laugh out loud moments we’ve come to expect. So sit down and get ready to have the time of your life. I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

Great narrator!

I’ve listened to all of these Donna Andrews books and must say that Bernadette Dunne is just fantastic! She makes you hate the villains love the wacky characters too! I especially liver her portrayal of Rose Noir every single time.

Christmas Carol Caper

while this installment was just as good as the others in the series. I am disappointed on two things. 1.. The Lark does not actually have a roll in the story, except in name only. 2.. I did not the the summary ending. instead of writing out the endings of the 5 different loose ends. The author summed it up at the end in a conversation between the chief and Meg. Although it is a great feel good mystery. this book is full of Christmas Spirit.
