Publisher's summary

When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and...a ride from his mom.

The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey.

Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse.

Better than Book 2

This is a good series, as a whole, but some of the childish elements (the humor and the banter) seem to get on my nerves more now than they did when I was younger.

The narration improves

The first 2 books of Percy Jackson were hard to get through, Jesse used the same voice for everyone, and didn't have much of a change for how he read. In this one he picked up his stride and added voices, changed his tone of voice depending on the scenario and is generally a drastic improvement over the previous books!

Absolute trash narration. Great book

This narrator should consider a different career path. He mispronounces words and names left and right; uses accents flagrantly and occasionally in a very racist way. Love this story but I’ll stick to the hard copy rather than this interpretation. Wish it was narrated by someone else

Love the series but narrator is terrible!

I have loved the Percy Jackson series for years! I’ve read it several times. This is the first time I’ve listened to it and the narrator is beyond terrible!! He gets progressively worse with each book. Horrible voices & accents, painful mispronunciations all over the place, and his inflection doesn’t match what he’s reading so it makes it sound really weird in places. He has got to be the worst narrator I’ve ever heard! Which is just so sad because I actually really love these books!

These are the books that taught my dyslexic brothers to love reading. The story is fun, exciting, & does a pretty good job teaching Greek mythology. Highly recommend to everyone, but get the print version. The audiobook version is atrocious!
