Publisher's Summary

When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and...a ride from his mom.

The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey.

Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse.

Don't miss the other titles in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

    "More Characters!"

There were more Characters in this book. I did notice the voices were different though.

    "God this narrator. . ."

listen to him, he's ridiculous. he makes me hate a series I love. I don't know why he chose to make everyone but Percy sound unintelligent but he did. he also went the extra mile by doing a racist Asian accent for annabeth's step mom. it's just too much.

"Another very cool book in the series!"

This was a very good book. I like that the author always does a small recap of the previous books in the beginning so that you don't necessarily need to read them in order but, you still understand what's going on in the series.

"Fun story as always, but cringeworthy narration"

Was the Asian accent really necessary? (For Anabeth's stepmother.) I don't remember this in the printed books, so to have it in the audiobook felt kind of rude if not straight-up racist.

Was the producer aware many Asians in America have American accents? Why did the default have to be a foreign Asian accent -- was the word "Asian" in the narrative not descriptive enough? Was the foreign accent relevant in any way to the stepmother's role in the story? Could the foreign accent, when paired with the fact that this character was initially introduced as unsympathetic, subtly encourage xenophobic sentiment towards Asians among young, impressionable listeners?

I just wish the producer (and narrator) had thought about these things before recording. Even if I had misremembered and the printed book DID describe the accent, it was much more jarring hearing it than reading it -- it had felt like the audio equivalent of yellowface.

    "Good story, narration sometimes annoying."
    Any additional comments?

I love the Percy Jackson series and have read them all more than once. I started audio with book one and skipped to this one. Im baffled as to how the characters could have gotten more dopey sounding than the first book that was so good. I wish Jesse B stuck with the characters from when he read book 1. His reading of the pegasi though, while incredibly annoying, couldn't have been better! (As odd as that might be!) I love the story and in spite of my misgivings I still plan to listen to the other books in the series.

    "good, but lacking"

didn't feel some of the raw emotions that some of the characters had in the story. While overall the story was good, and love Jessy's performance

This book is entertaining. I would recommend to others. The person who does the narration is also good.

"A must read for middle schoolers"

I myself am a middle schooler and when my 17 year old sister introduced me to the series I quickly fell in love with it, the action, the adventure, and Percy's stupidity 😜 were all great aspects of this series, now whenever the teacher asks who knows about Greek or Roman mythology I'm like, "Step aside Peasents!" Ok I don't actually say that but I think it 😜
