Now continues Morris Gleitzman children's series about two friends in Nazi-occupied Poland. It follows the author's audiobooks Once and Again. Now a grandfather, Felix, faces an awful event together with his granddaughter, Zelda. Australian actress Mary-Anne Fahey believably plays young Zelda, the point-of-view character. She embodies Zelda's innocence and sincerity with a sweet voice that will mesmerize young listeners. Fans of the stories about young Felix will enjoy coming full circle with this final edition of the series.
The final installment in the poignant story of Felix and Zelda, this is the sequel to Morris Gleitzman's books Once and Then. Gleitzman's acclaimed story of friends Felix and Zelda in Nazi-occupied Poland has captured the hearts and minds of readers and listeners worldwide. In Now he delivers the final chapter, bringing this most moving of stories into the present day.
My son and I have read or listened to all of the Once series together and Now was another great little book. Gleitzman manages to be funny while dealing with some very big themes, without ever patronising his audience or belittling the subject matter. Now steps outside of the timeline of Once and Then but continues and develops the themes. Would thoroughly recommend for children 11+.
it good that he put in about the vic fires and the Holocaust this is a very very good book to have and thank you so much
