THE WARM LIGHTED WINDOWS

BORIS KARLOFF AND WALTER MATTHAU
As most people know, it is an excellent story. One all children should hear over and over. I grew up loving Walter Matthau, as most people my age have. I give the book and narration five stars, but I will have to admit that Boris Karloff, who did the cartoon in the 60's is a much better narrator. As there is not a Karloff addition offered, don't deny you children access to this great story and Matthau does a good job.

Enjoyable, but...

Having grown up listening to Boris Karloff's beautiful narration, Matthau's reading seemed strangely flat. However, the story is still as enjoyable as ever - a timeless classic!

Christmas Classic to Share with Your Kids

Would you consider the audio edition of How the Grinch Stole Christmas to be better than the print version?

It is certainly a fun one to listen to on audio.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

We did listen in one sitting -- it is very short.

Any additional comments?

The audio isn't the best quality. And of course it is very short -- I wished it had been paired with other Christmas stories.

But I assume most folks know what they are getting with the Grinch, and this recording could save parents of younger children from repeat readings!

Great but...

Not quite as good as the book or movie. While still a fun listen, Walter Mathau's voice isn't as good as one might think or even expect for the character of the Grinch.
