Editorial Reviews

Bobby Norfolk's animated, dynamic performance of Anansi and the Tug O' War brings this delightful children's book to life.

In a clever reinterpretation of the story of David and Goliath, Norfolk's diminutive spider Anansi uses his shrewdness to outwit the unsuspecting Elephant and Killer Whale in the titular game normally associated with size and brute strength.

This charming, breezy listen is a testament to the power of imagination and creative thinking, and Norfolk's engaging, colorful voice will hold children's attention from start to finish.

Publisher's Summary

In this trickster tale from Africa, Anansi proves to Elephant and Killer Whale that in a battle of wits, brains definitely outdo brawn.

Illustrated by Baird Hoffmire.

This story is a perpetual favorite of mine.

What other book might you compare Anansi and the Tug o' War to and why?

Just as with Anansi and the Pot of Beans, the music and the pacing of the performance were excellent.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the exchange between Anansi and the whale.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There is wonderful wry humor in this piece.
