Amazing world building

Andrew is becoming on of my favorite authors! His character depth and world building truly take me into the story and leaving me feeling as if I’m with the characters. Another excellent job, definitely recommend to anyone interested in the genre and to anyone looking to try something new!!

I have read all of the book and the debt collection and though I love that series this book is so much better both because of the authors improvement through make debt collection and because of the different kind and setting of the story

The Story Telling is a Masterpiece

I really enjoyed the storytelling in this book! It really brought the whole story together. It reminded me a lot of Brandon Sanderson, and always had me excited for what happens next. I really recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, and books like the storm light archives.

this is definitely my favorite book by this author. the mc is smart and capable something i love as I don't like when mc are complete idiots

Doesn't waste my time being too bogged down in descriptive writing.

First book so can't complain much about unfinished parts of the story when the author clearly represents these reveals to be later.

World building done well a decent treatment for Characters and the author clearly was not treating the main character and supporting characters with trite and silly qualities so readily ruining a story of these themes. And the cover art is nice for that as well

Roman style fantasy

First the world , the Roman like setting of the empire and legions is fun mixed with the magic progression system of those bound to Ceres getting control over a symbol. That being stuff like flames, ice, iron or even things like fertile fields.

Now the setting and character aside who is just the typical youth who believes what his elders tell him in a corrupt empire.

This whole book is basically set up for the series. While the series seems like it will be great, this book was a bit annoying. It was all break him down so later he can be built up. One set back after another, one tragedy after another. Over and over without any real wins.
It was just no fun when nothing good happens to the MC.

It's going to be a good series so worth the read but I really wish book 2 was out. As this would been much better paired with book 2 when he actually makes progress in his goals.

Been a while since this quality came Out…

I have been quite disappointed by the quality of books in the fantasy genre the last couple years. A few standouts but mostly not that great. This one was very well done. Edge of seat style. Well done!

next book please great story...the beginning could have used some more work .. the guys lost their families ..... and basically no time was spent explaining or showing their feelings or coping with it... but everything else is great so far

Some really good emotional chapters that are well written. I’m ready to join the legion and get revenge with these characters. Wow
