Lainey hasn't had the best start in life. Her mother is neglectful, and her stepfather is a piece of work. Still, she makes the most of life. She loves attending art college and looks forward to a time when she can be on her own.

Then one night, she is knocked down by a speeding driver, and she wakes up as a member of the undead. Not only that, she has powerful visions of an ancient evil vampire, but people are out to get her and to use her unique powers for their own gain.

With the protection of her maker Tristen, an ancient warrior, Lainey must traverse her new vampire life, attend vampire college, and try her best to stay alive.
